🌏 Connecting Islamic Schools Globally | GAIS Jakarta 2026

Our Executive Principal, Sh Tuckeidean Mohtadi, had the privilege of attending the GAIS gathering in Jakarta, connecting with leaders and educators from Islamic schools across the world.

It was a valuable opportunity to learn from one another, exchange ideas, share experiences and see the innovative work being undertaken by Islamic schools globally.

While we may come from different countries and communities, we are united by a common purpose: to provide the very best education for our children and prepare the next generation for a successful future while remaining grounded in their Islamic identity and values.

At My College, we believe growth comes from continually learning, reflecting and looking beyond our own walls. Opportunities like GAIS allow us to bring back new ideas, strengthen our practices and contribute to the wider advancement of Islamic education.

Different schools. Different countries. One shared purpose, the future of our children.

Mychampionship Girls Basketball 🏀

MyCollege welcomed Australian Islamic Centre College and Muhammadiyah Australia College for our Years 7–8 girls MYChampionship basketball tournament, bringing students together for a day of friendly competition and sisterhood.

The court was filled with energy, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. Yet the most meaningful moments went beyond the scoreboard.
The girls got to know each other through our “Find Someone Who” activity, discovering common interests and making connections beyond their school groups.

MyCollege claimed the trophy after a nail-biting 17–16 win over Muhammadiyah Australian College in the final! 🏆

It was lovely to see students competing with determination while showing kindness and respect for one another. That’s what MYChampionship is all about.

Thank you to the students and staff from all three schools who made today possible. Swipe through for some of our favourite moments! 📸

Alhamdulillah, members of the My College leadership team had the opportunity to attend the CITE Conference, connecting with Islamic schools from across Australia, sharing ideas, learning from one another and reflecting on how we can continue to grow together.

Our Principal also took part in the ISSA Principals Conference, where principals and leaders came together to discuss important matters affecting Islamic schools and our shared responsibility towards the next generation.

While every school has its own journey, we share a common purpose: to nurture, educate and prepare the next generation of Australian Muslim leaders.

Our students are among our greatest amanah, and fulfilling that responsibility requires unity, collaboration and a willingness to continue learning from one another.

May Allah place barakah in our collective efforts and allow us to raise a generation that benefits their faith, their communities and wider society. Ameen.

Small hands. Big hearts. An incredible $1,020 donation. 💙

This beautiful story began when two of our lower-primary students, Walid El Helwe and Khalid El Helwe, learned that MyCollege had purchased new land beside our current campus and needed the community’s support to secure it. Moved by what they heard, the two students quietly made a heartfelt decision: they wanted to help.

They began saving whatever they could, with one personal goal: to donate it towards the future of their school.

Together, these two young students saved and donated an astonishing $1,020.

When they presented their savings to our Principal, he was deeply moved.
Their generosity came not from having plenty, but from sincerely wanting to give for the sake of Allah and help build something that future generations could benefit from.

He thanked them wholeheartedly, made a special du‘a for them, and surprised each student with a gift card in appreciation of their remarkable gesture.

Their donation may have come from small hands, but it carried the weight of enormous hearts. May Allah accept their generosity, place endless barakah in their lives, and allow their contribution to become a lasting sadaqah for them. Ameen. 🤲

This is what it means to nurture a generation grounded in growth, mercy and excellence.
