Yesterday morning, we were delighted to welcome our dads, stepdads, grandfathers, carers and other special people to Broadford Secondary College for our Father’s Day Breakfast.

It was wonderful to see so many families joining us and spending some quality time together to start the day.

We wish all the amazing dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures and special people in our community a very Happy Father’s Day this weekend!

This Friday 4 September, we’re inviting everyone to wear their favourite footy colours and bring along a gold coin donation to support BlazeAid Australia.

BlazeAid does incredible work alongside rural communities, helping families rebuild fences and clear debris following natural disasters including bushfires, floods and cyclones.

What a fantastic Book Week celebration at Broadford Secondary College!

Our students and staff brought some of their favourite book characters to life, with plenty of creativity and some amazing costumes on display!

The Year 11 and 12 Geography students ventured into Melbourne this week as part of their studies about tourism and human population. They visited the Melbourne Aquarium, where they encountered a host of local and exotic marine species. Next was the Immigration Museum, where they participated in a session about migration, before having the opportunity to venture around the galleries. Lastly, the group spent time having lunch at Federation Square, enjoying the late winter sunshine on offer. Although we arrived back at school later than planned thanks to an unanticipated bus issue, the fact that this occurred opposite a KFC shop and in view of a beautiful sunset, helped keep the children happy (somewhat).

Last week, BSC celebrated National Science Week with a range of fun and engaging activities taking place each day!

It was fantastic to see our students getting involved, exploring science, testing their knowledge and enjoying some hands-on experiences throughout the week.

Have you got your costume ready for the Book Week costume day this Friday 28th August? You still have 4 days to get it ready.

A group photo will occur during Recess; the location will be announced on the day. There will be a photo booth available in the library during the lunch breaks.

So, organise with your friends and come to school dressed as you favourite book character or book.
