AIU respectfully acknowledges the Kombumerri people of the Yugambeh language region as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet, work and teach.
This week, we recognise National NAIDOC Week and this year’s milestone theme, ‘50 Years of Deadly’, honouring the strength, culture, leadership and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Throughout the week, our team and course participants are enjoying lunches prepared by Flavours of the Earth, featuring native ingredients and bush tucker. Thank you for catering for us during NAIDOC Week.

A big thank you to everyone who visited the AIU booth at ASA2026!
Last month, the AIU team enjoyed connecting with sonographers from across Australia throughout the conference, as well as at our hands-on pre-conference workshop led by AIU sonographer and educator Katherine Eller and our Director of Education, Claire Arrowsmith.
We’d also like to give special thanks to the scanning models who supported the live demonstrations. Your involvement helped make these sessions possible and we are grateful for your contribution.
A big thank you also to the Australasian Sonographers Association for a fantastic conference. It was a pleasure to reconnect with so many familiar faces, meet new ones and be part of the event. We look forward to the next one!

Happy Mother’s Day from AIU.
Today, we recognise the mothers, mums-to-be and maternal health professionals in our community.
Through our obstetric ultrasound training, we’re proud to support clinicians as they build practical skills for caring for mothers and babies.
We’re also grateful to our pregnant volunteers, whose time helps create real learning experiences for clinicians developing their ultrasound skills.
To all the mums and mums-to-be in our AIU community, we wish you a very happy Mother’s Day.
