This morning we welcomed Old Collegians and parents of Clayfield College to campus for our STEM Breakfast, as part of the 2026 Future Leaders Program.

For our Senior students, the event was an opportunity to hear first-hand about the diverse pathways and careers available across STEM fields, as our guest mentors generously shared their professional experiences, career journeys and industry insights.

More than a careers chat, our mentors encouraged students to think broadly about their interests, ask questions and consider where their strengths and ambitions might take them. The experience of our mentors highlighted the breadth of opportunities available across Health and Medicine, Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Cyber Security and Technology, Engineering and Infrastructure, Government and Public Health and Space and Aerospace industries.

We are grateful to our mentors for sharing their time, experiences and expertise with our students and we hope this morning inspires our students to remain curious, embrace opportunities and continue exploring the many possibilities STEM has to offer.

There is something truly special about welcoming our Old Collegians back to campus, and this year we were delighted to host our 6s' Reunion and Back to Campus Celebration alongside our flagship community event, On the Green.

It was wonderful to reconnect with alumni from the Classes of 1956, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016 on Sunday as they returned to celebrate their Clayfield connection.

Joined by Dr Andrew Cousins (Principal), Ms Anna Lloyd (President of the Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association) and Mrs Carolyn Hauff AM (Past Principal and Patron of the Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association), guests reflected on the experiences and friendships that shaped their time at Clayfield. It was also a pleasure to welcome back former staff members Ms Doris Haddock, Mrs Pamela and Mr David Hodgetts, and Mr Doug Kiddell, whose presence made the occasion even more special for our Old Collegians.

Our reunion guests explored memorabilia in the Clayfield College Museum, enjoyed a guided campus tour and revisited familiar childhood spaces before continuing the celebrations at On the Green.

The dedicated CCOCA tent became a hub of connection as Old Collegians from across the decades gathered to catch up, share stories and enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment, including performances by Chloe Noon (Class of 2024) and Australian music icon Ben Lee.

Thank you to everyone who returned to campus. Your stories and connection to Clayfield continue to enrich our community, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

As part of the Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association Future Leaders' Program, we are seeking Old Collegians working in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to join us for our STEM Breakfast on Friday 14 August, from 7.15am to 8.15am.

This networking event connects current students in Years 10 to 12 with Old Collegians willing to share their career journeys and industry insights as students explore their future pathways beyond school.

Clayfield connections and school memories are once again travelling far beyond the College gates, as a group of Old Collegians come together in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea this weekend.

While this is not a formal reunion, it is a beautiful reminder that the spirit of Clayfield College is carried through friendships, shared experiences and connections that span decades and continents, lasting long after graduation.

We wish all Old Collegians gathering in Port Moresby a wonderful time together and we look forward to seeing photos from your catch up.

Thank you to the Old Collegians who joined our Deputy Principal, Lakshmi Mohan, and Alumni and Foundation Manager, Meg Graham, in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide over the weekend, representing graduating years from 1953 to 2022.

Each conversation was a powerful reminder that a Clayfield education continues well beyond school, shaping values, guiding choices and influencing the ways our Old Collegians contribute to their communities. Hearing your journeys, reconnecting through shared memories and seeing the many paths you have taken was truly inspiring.

✈️ Connected by Clayfield is back on tour around Australia!

Following the success of last year’s gatherings, our alumni tour returns in 2026, bringing the Clayfield College community together across Australia with events in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Hosted by Mrs Lakshmi Mohan, Deputy Principal, and Ms Meg Graham, Alumni and Foundation Manager, these evenings offer a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow Old Collegians and the extended Clayfield family over drinks and nibbles at some fantastic venues. We look forward to welcoming alumni in each city and continuing the conversations that keep our community connected, wherever life has taken you.

Our annual Foundation Day Assembly welcomed Old Collegians, past staff and special guests back to campus. We paid tribute to the late Joan Anderson née Earnshaw (Class of 1941), the last surviving founding student, who passed away in late 2025. In honour of Joan, who co-authored the College war-cry, our community chanted it in the presence of her sister, Annabel (Class of 1951).

The Assembly also featured an Archives presentation, Learning through experiences, highlighting how learning beyond the classroom has long defined the Clayfield experience. Our College Captains read the roll of the first class of 1931 and rang the school bell, symbolically connecting past and present.

We were treated to beautiful musical performances from students and proudly presented our Spirit of Clayfield Awards and Staff Service Awards (more on these in future posts!). The celebrations continued with a whole-College birthday party, complete with cake and a sausage sizzle, before Houses competed in a Games Carnival for the coveted Foundation Day Cup.

Today we celebrate Clayfield College, founded on this day in 1931, that's 95 years of learning, leadership and community.

Tomorrow, our celebrations continue with a special Foundation Day Assembly, bringing together students, staff, Old Collegians and invited guests. Following the Assembly, the campus will come alive with a Birthday Party and House Games Carnival, as our Houses compete for the coveted Foundation Day Cup.
