After years of advocacy, UQLES is proud to report we were finally able to force Wikipedia to give lettuce the credit it deserves. This is a proud day for all lettuce lovers.

Greetings lettuce lovers,

You may be wondering what UQLES is all about... well, lettuce tell you.

Lettuce eating societies are not a new idea. There is a proud history of lettuce eating around the world, and we hope to celebrate this ancient tradition.

Members are to gather and eat once yearly. Eat what? Lettuce, of course... a whole head of lettuce. You must show courage. You must show dedication. You must show passion.

The first to finish is duly crowned that year's Head of Lettuce, and President of the Society.

After our Facebook debut this week, we already have many prospective members. We're confident that with a little water and sunshine, we will soon grow into UQ's freshest club.
