Modzaka 🫶🏽

Thank you to everyone who attended Camp Modzaka in 2026. ❤️ We’re already planning for Camp Modzaka ’27, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

So, what is Camp Modzaka actually like? 🥁💃🏿❤️

It’s hard to explain Camp Modzaka until you’ve been there.

Yes, there’s plenty of drumming and dancing. You’ll learn from incredible artist teachers, work hard, laugh a lot, eat seriously good food and probably discover muscles you’d forgotten existed.

But somewhere between the workshops, shared meals, conversations, jams and camp fire fun, something else happens.

People connect.

Created by Kofi Kunkpe and Kwame Tosuma to share Ghanaian music, dance and culture, Camp Modzaka has grown into a celebration of Australian-based African diaspora artists and a community that extends well beyond one weekend.

And judging by the messages after this year’s camp, that feeling is getting stronger. ❤️

If you’ve been to Camp Modzaka before, we want to hear from you:

What did Camp Modzaka feel like to you?

Tell us in the comments. 👇🏿

And if you’ve never been, stick around. As we look ahead to Camp Modzaka ’27, we’ll be sharing more about what makes Modzaka so special.
