As we conclude another incredible term of teaching and learning across Brighton, we pause to reflect on the effort and achievement of our students. Across every classroom, we have seen our students grow as learners, challenging themselves, embracing and enacting feedback, and developing the critical skills needed to take greater ownership of their learning. Through rich learning experiences across the curriculum, our students continue to build the knowledge, confidence and capabilities that will support their success well beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of the growth we continue to see across our school. We can't wait to continue to build on this success across next term.

Our Soccer Academy athletes took to the field for their final tournament of the year, the Challenge Cup, and what a way to finish!

Our girls produced an outstanding day of football, qualifying for the Grand Final after a series of fantastic performances. In a thrilling contest, they narrowly went down 2–1, showcasing incredible determination, teamwork and skill in a fantastic battle right to the final whistle.

Our boys also enjoyed a brilliant tournament, narrowly missing out in their semi-final before taking on the play-off for 3rd and 4th. Following a fantastic display, they secured 3rd place overall.

We couldn’t be prouder of the effort, dedication and commitment demonstrated by our Soccer Academy students throughout the year. They have embraced every opportunity to learn, compete and grow, representing Brighton with great pride.

Now, our attention turns to Term 4 and Mini Kickers! We can’t wait to see our Prep–Year 3 students take the field every Monday morning for fun, engaging sessions designed to develop their skills and, most importantly, their love of soccer.

The power of community connections to bring learning to life was on full display today with a special visit from our local fire station. Experiences like these provide students with authentic opportunities to connect classroom learning with the world around them, making learning meaningful, memorable and relevant.

We are incredibly grateful to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit our school, share their knowledge and give our students a firsthand insight into the important work they do in our community.

At Brighton, we know that when our school and wider community come together, learning truly comes to life.

Bay Cup Champions 2026- an incredible day for our Brighton Touch Academy, with Brighton taking out all four divisions at the 2026 Bay Cup (Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls). Making this back to back Bay Cups for Brighton.

This is a wonderful reward for the commitment of our students, who turn up each week ready to learn, improve and develop their touch football skills. Their teamwork, effort and pride in representing Brighton were on full display throughout the day.

A special congratulations to Josh, Oz, Tilly and Lucia, who were each named Player of the Carnival for their respective divisions.

What an incredible week it was celebrating Book Week! It was a true symphony of stories, bringing our school community together through imagination, creativity and a shared love of reading.

From an inspiring author visit with Jonathan Bentley, to our spectacular Book Week Parade, there was something for everyone. Students embraced the fun of Where’s Wally, joined in the fun of the Book Worm Guessing Jar, showcased their creativity in our Colouring Competition, and enjoyed a game of Guess Who featuring our staff and their favourite books!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Book Week such an incredible celebration. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see our students immersed in stories, discovering new characters, exploring new worlds and celebrating the joy of reading.

A fantastic day of competition for our Brighton Touch Football Academy at the Redcliffe Touch Association Gala Day!

Our girls went through the pool games undefeated, earning their place in the grand final. Following some outstanding team-based touch football, the girls secured a 5–3 victory to claim the title! A special mention to Lucia, who was voted Player of the Carnival in the girls’ competition, an incredible achievement.

Our boys also battled their way into the grand final, producing a nail-biting contest. Locked at 2–2 at full time, the game headed into a 4v4 drop-off. After two minutes the scores remained tied, before more than five minutes of 3v3 golden point eventually saw our boys narrowly defeated.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, resilience and sportsmanship shown by both teams. A fantastic day of competition, with plenty of learning to take forward as we continue our preparation towards QLD All Schools later this year.
