Malo e lelei students, staff, and community of Bracken Ridge.
Our names are Elisiva and Leilani and we are the leaders of the Bracken Ridge State High School Pasifika group, where we encourage all Pasifika students to come forward and learn about their culture. We have organised performances for Harmony Day, Arts Reimagined, and even for our visiting Japanese students.
Today, Leilani and I have come to school wearing our Ta'ovalas in honour of our celebration of Tongan Language Week. Tongan Language Week is an annual celebration across New Zealand and Australia, that honours the Tongan language and its significance. It aims to promote the learning and appreciation of Tongan culture among the community.
We would love to give a special thank you to our Principal, Mrs Lyons for supporting us in wearing a cultural piece in honour of Tongan Language Week.

The rivalry continues! 🏀
Friday's Teachers vs Students Competition was a highly competitive match. Despite the teachers' best efforts, the students proved too skilful, securing a convincing 31-21 victory.
Congratulations to everyone who participated. Now it's time to turn our attention to next week's matchup... futsal! ⚽ With the scoreboard tied, the next round is shaping up to be a big one!
Score: Teachers 1 : Students 1

Our Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to watch an incredible performance of Romeo and Juliet by Shake & Stir Theatre Co last Friday!
The performance enhanced their understanding of Shakespeare's classic text, and students asked thoughtful questions about the play, acting, and careers in the arts during the Q&A session.
An exciting opportunity to experience live theatre and feedback from the Shake & Stir team was wonderful!
