Under perfect sunny skies, we held a whole-school celebration on the Crowther Oval today. Students from the ELC to Year 12 came together to celebrate the achievements of our Grand Final Basketball, Soccer, Rugby and Football teams, who competed on Saturday, while watching the following video captured over the weekend. Well done. Go Tonners!

It's iDesign Week! With a new, earlier date this year, Year 8s presented their iDesign projects in their tutor groups on Tuesday, and on Wednesday the best projects were selected to bravely pitch their projects to a Shark Tank panel of judges.

The STEM based projects, covering categories in creativity, entrepreneurship, sustainability, inventiveness and innovation are an amazing insight into the passion and vision that current Year 8s have for their future.

There's been everything from recycling old footballs into wallets and reconditioning cricket bats to keep them out of landfill, to using timers on showers to save water. Other projects have included creating affordable flat packed furniture, redesigning composting bins, building a better porch light switch and solving the age-old problem of netless basketball rings with a portable basketball net!

Be sure to visit the Urwin Centre on Thursday at 4.15pm to see these projects and many more, along with their creators, at the iDesign Expo.

Thanks to Shark Tank judges Stephen, Nathan, Kate and Year 10 student Sam (2025 iDesign winner), for their time, expertise, and advice to the presenting students. They now face the difficult task of selecting a winner.

The bands are currently rehearsing one of Dani’s pieces for the combined BGS and FGS Concert Con Spirito: Music of the Bay on 31 August.
