Year 10’er with Kristina for just 7 sessions - from fail to a pass! 😁 This student was super driven to succeed, but about 3 sessions in said that she didn’t know what was wrong with her because maths “just wasn’t clicking”.. but then the very next week her confidence came back and she “locked in” for the next 4 sessions to make a fantastic achievement 🎉

Year 10 Maths Methods question from last night’s homework session! 📚📖🙇‍♀️Note how important it is to:
1. Label your diagram thoroughly
2. Write down some initial thoughts and try and derive a formula from words.
3. Once we have a wordy formula, we can replace with formulae (from your exam formula sheet) and then finally substitute numbers. Our goal is to have just one unknown value, then the equation can be solved!

In Year 10 Maths Methods (Maths Advanced in NSW), students need to be comfortable using a variety of factorising methods. One important method is the ac method, used for factorising non-monic quadratics. I have seen many of my students get lost at the splitting the middle term step, so I made a video stepping out the process.
