Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - a beautiful reminder of St Mary’s boundless, unconditional, and nurturing love. Mary’s heart represents the ultimate model of a mother’s devotion, patience, and supportive grace. ❤️

At St Thomas More's, we are blessed to see that very same beautiful spirit reflected daily in our own wonderful, supportive school mothers. Whether you are comforting a scraped knee, volunteering your time, or guiding our little ones with love, your "heart" is the heartbeat of our school community.

It was wonderful to see so many of our STM mums join together to celebrate that incredible bond and take a well-deserved moment for friendship and creativity at last night's "MasterPEACE of the Sisterhood" Paint and Sip evening led by the St George network's Family Educators! 🎨🥂

It was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, shared stories, and some seriously impressive artistic talent. Just like the beautiful colours on the canvas, our community is brighter and more vibrant because of each and every one of you!

Thank you to all the mums who came out to connect, support one another, and make the night so special. We also send our enormous thanks to Mrs Coso for the time and energy spent organising the evening, to Mr D'Cunha for very generously giving his time to cook and cater for our mums and special guests and to Mrs Ryan for supporting our artists throughout the evening. 💛💙

Thank you to our School Captains who joined with representatives from all other Sydney Catholic Schools to celebrate the Our Lady, Help of Christians Solemnity Mass at St Mary's Cathedral on Monday.

It was a beautiful celebration led by Bishop Tony Percy, assisted by STM Parish's very own Deacon Raymond. 💛💙

Year 4 had a lot of fun today meeting some new friends for the STM playground! 🪱

As some of our Year 4 students have shown a passion for gardening, the class now has the responsibility of looking after the school's newly installed worm farm and collecting the very valuable liquid gold (worm wee) for our gardens! 🌷🍓🫐

A big thank you to Chantelle from Veolia who visited our school today to teach us about worm farming and set up the farm for us as part of Veolia’s ‘The Recoverables Waste Education Program’, with the support of Bayside Council. 💙💛

We congratulate our Year 6 students who recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through the laying on of hands and the anointing with Sacred Chrism by Bishop Terry Brady, these students have been sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit. 💛💙

Congratulations to our Term 2 SRC members and our Library Monitors who we recently acknowledged at a special morning assembly.

We pray that the Lord blesses them with the strength to lead with integrity, the courage to make wise decisions, and the compassion to serve others selflessly. May they inspire and uplift their peers, and may their efforts bring about positive change! 💙💛

Happy Mother's Day to all of our beautiful, kind, and loving St Thomas More's mothers, grandmothers, aunties and all significant people who act as mothers for our children! 💐

When it comes to mums, STM has the very best and we hope you all have the amazing day you deserve! Our school would not be the wonderful place it is without the constant support and encouragement our mothers give to their children and to our school community. Across Sydney Catholic Schools, young artists are telling powerful stories through portraiture. The 2026 SCS Portrait Prize attracted 725 student submissions, with 93 artworks from 40 schools selected for exhibition.

Each portrait captures not just a face, but the connection and story behind someone important in the artist’s life. Now in its fifth year, the Portrait Prize continues to nurture creativity and artistic growth among students from Kindergarten to Year 12, encouraging them to develop both their technical skills and emotional insight.

What an amazing Athletics Carnival we had on Friday! We had superb weather and a great day of fun and athleticism! Congratulations to the McGovern Green team for collecting the most amount of points on the day and taking out the shield for 2026! 💚🏆💚

Well done to all students for participating in our carnival and showing great spirit and enthusiasm during the whole day. We especially acknowledge Mrs Rios for organising a wonderful day - thank you Mrs Rios! We also thank our parents who volunteered to help out on the day and our tireless staff who worked together to ensure the day ran safely and smoothly. 💚💙❤️

Thank you to our School Captains for officially representing our school at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Brighton RSL this morning. It was wonderful to see so many STM students, families and staff attend this service to give thanks, to reflect and to pray for the amazing service men and women who have served and those who continue to serve in our armed forces.

Thank you to Brighton RSL, and in particular Brighton Sub-branch president, Mr John Yates, and Sub-branch Secretary, Mr Charlie Leo, for the invitation and for organising a beautiful service.
