At Lake View, we are excited to announce that we have received a Victorian Government grant to further support our bush kinder program.

Our skilled early childhood educators transform every adventure, discovery and conversation into an opportunity for meaningful learning.

Through intentional teaching, thoughtful questions and carefully supported exploration, children build confidence, independence, resilience and a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.

It's the expertise of our educators that makes the difference.

The Lake View Bush Kindergarten program is supported by the Victorian Government.

What a beat! 🥁🎶

A huge thank you to In the Groove for bringing the energy, rhythm and fun to our Cultural Immersion experience at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market in Bright on Saturday!

Children and families had the chance to jump in, have a go, and experience the excitement of making music together.

Music is a daily part of early childhood education because it supports so many areas of children’s development. Through rhythm, movement, and sound, children build coordination, listening skills, memory, language, confidence, and self-expression — all while having fun.

Group music experiences also teach children to take turns, follow a beat, listen to others, work together, and feel part of something bigger.

And drumming? It is loud, active, joyful and wonderfully engaging — exactly the kind of hands-on learning children love! 🥁

Our sincere thanks to In the Groove for helping fill the market with music, laughter, and connection. You certainly got everyone moving!

Did you see First Nations Elder David Dunn at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market in Bright on Saturday? ❤️💛🖤

As part of Alpine Children’s Services’ Cultural Immersion experience, children and families were invited to explore an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Exhibition and take part in a painting workshop.

Experiences like these are an important part of early childhood education.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, connection to Country is deeply intertwined with identity, culture, family, community, spirituality, and belonging. Giving children opportunities to learn about Country helps them begin to understand the importance of caring for the land, respecting the knowledge and traditions of First Nations peoples, and recognising the continuing cultures of the world’s oldest living peoples.

For young children, learning about Country can also encourage a stronger relationship with the natural environment, a sense of place and belonging, and an understanding that people can have different — and deeply meaningful — connections to the land around them.

We are very grateful to David Dunn and Petaurus Education Group for sharing their knowledge, culture and creativity with children, families and our wider community.

A very special thank you to Cafe Chulo Bright for supporting our Cultural Immersion experience at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market on Saturday.

Our ACS educators prepared an incredible 300 Nepalese momo (dumplings), which Cafe Chulo generously cooked for us at no charge so they could be shared with children, families and members of the community.

Food is such a powerful way for children to experience and learn about different cultures. Tasting new foods, hearing the stories behind them and seeing the traditions connected with their preparation helps children develop curiosity, respect and an appreciation for the diverse world around them.

These kinds of experiences are an important part of early childhood education. They help children understand that families, traditions, languages and cultures may look different — and that those differences are something to celebrate.

Did you see our wonderful Indian dancers, Shreeya and Asmita, at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market in Bright on Saturday? 💃🏽🌏

Their beautiful performance was one of the highlights of our Cultural Immersion experience and a wonderful opportunity for children and families to experience another culture through music, movement and dance.

In early childhood education, exposing children to different cultures is an important part of helping them understand the diverse world around them.

When children experience different languages, music, food, traditions, stories and celebrations, they begin to develop curiosity, respect, empathy and a sense of belonging. These experiences help children recognise both the things we have in common and the wonderful differences that make each culture unique.

Cultural inclusion also helps children from diverse backgrounds see their own families, identities and traditions reflected and valued within their learning environment.

At Alpine Children’s Services, we are incredibly fortunate to have educators from many different cultural backgrounds who bring their experiences, knowledge and traditions into our programs every day.

Did you try our delicious homemade damper with spreads from Kakadu Plum Co at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market on Saturday? 😋🍞

Baking is one of those wonderful early childhood experiences where children are having fun — while learning so much at the same time.

When children bake, they are exploring early mathematical concepts such as measuring, weighing, counting, comparing quantities, and understanding halves, quarters and whole amounts.

They are also developing important social skills — taking turns, sharing equipment, listening to instructions, working together and waiting patiently for their turn.

Baking supports language development too, as children learn new words, follow sequences and talk about what they can see, smell, feel and taste.

And when we introduce foods and ingredients connected to different cultures, baking becomes another way for children to build curiosity, respect and awareness of the diverse world around them.

Did you meet some of our amazing educators at the Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market in Bright on Saturday? 🌏💛

Alpine Children’s Services was proud to host a Cultural Immersion Experience, celebrating the wonderful diversity within our team and our community.

Families were invited to take part in First Nations experiences, international food tastings, drumming, dancing and hands-on cultural activities — all designed to encourage children to explore, connect, learn and celebrate the world around them.

Events like this are a wonderful reminder that early childhood is about so much more than care. It is about education, belonging, culture, curiosity and connection.

A huge thank you to our incredible educators who volunteered their time and shared their cultures, knowledge and enthusiasm with the Bright community. We are very proud of the diversity they bring to ACS every day. ❤️
