Ok, so there’s not enough snow for cross country skiing this week. No dramas, we’ll go out orienteering and play frisbee golf through our unique alpine environment of beautiful snow gums. We’ll also have several parent volunteers from our supportive community join us with both our morning and afternoon groups. Making more lifelong memories in our special place at Dinner Plain School on a Thursday in August.

Huge congratulations to Teddy and Charles, two of our Grade 4 students. Yesterday they shared the trophy from the recent Falls Creek Schools Snowsports Carnival where they won the team cup in the snowboard division (as well as multiple placings across the event). Call in and see the beautiful trophy- it’s on display at school. Fantastic work representing our school boys. And a big well done to everyone who took part at the event!

The students are extremely excited to announce their upcoming event - the Dinner Plain Community Day. They have created a stamp trail to showcase the activities and history that make Dinner Plain special. Come to our school on the day to collect a stamp booklet before visiting each attraction to get a unique stamp created by the students. A number of Dinner Plain businesses will be providing special offers and discounts on the day. Stay tuned for more updates! We hope to see you there.

Happy Friyay everyone! It’s another beautiful morning in our idyllic winter village up here at Dinner Plain. We’ve had another busy week with cafe reading and hot chocolate at Club Wyndham, BCST, orienteering, frisbee golf and all of our normal teaching and learning programs. There’s also an exciting weekend ahead with sled dog racing in the village. We’ll all be cheering on local hero and Grade 4 student, Zev, piloting the winning team!
Watch this space for updates on our upcoming Community Day, which we’re also busy preparing for.
And on top of all that there are rumours of fresh snowfall. Maybe.

Our Yr 10 Outdoor Ed class are heading to Falls Creek for cross-country skiing later this week. To prepare, they've been learning techniques using roller-skis at school.
