On Friday we travelled to Toowoomba to see a show at the Empire Theatre. Everyone had a wonderful day and enjoyed watching Room on the Broom come to life on stage.

🥪 Healthy Lunchboxes = Happy Learners! 🍎

We love seeing our students enjoy healthy, nutritious lunchboxes that help keep them fuelled and focused throughout the school day! 🌟

A friendly reminder that chocolate, lollies and other treats are best saved for home. While the occasional treat is certainly part of a balanced diet, school lunchboxes are a great opportunity to fill little tummies with nutritious foods that support learning, concentration and energy. 💪🧠

So, pack the fruit, sandwiches, veggies, yoghurt and other healthy goodies — and save the chocolate and lollies for after school! 😉

Living in a rural community, our students are surrounded by rich agricultural land, crops and farming life all visible from our classroom windows. This term we were lucky to receive the full collection of George the Farmer Books through a competition run by the Rabobank. Our students are loving reading all about George's adventures on the farm and comparing it to their own! As you can see from the pictures- Our 4 legged neighbours want to get in on the fun as well! The things you see at a country school!

Get ready parents....we need all hands on deck!!!!

🐷 DID YOU KNOW?! 🐷
Approximately 80 KILOS of pork collars are cooked on the day… and somehow, they ALL disappear! 😳😂
And because apparently 80kg of pork isn’t enough, we also cook more than 20 LITRES of goulash to go with it! 🍲🐷
That’s right… 20+ litres of goulash. We’re not feeding a small army — although, judging by how quickly it disappears, we may as well be! 😂
So if you’re wondering why you need to get in early… THIS is why!

😋 Hundreds of hungry people
⏰ And absolutely NO guarantee there’ll be any left!
Get in quick or prepare to hear the dreaded words: “Sorry, we’ve sold out!” 😂

Science in action! Our year 3-6 students have been investigating the states of matter during their science lessons. This week they enjoyed getting hands on and making their own sour dough! From feeding the starter, stretching and folding the dough and baking it to perfection, the students were involved in every step.

A Message from Our Principal - Belinda Waterford

At Brigalow State School, I have the privilege of seeing the very best of our school community every single day.

I see caring and dedicated staff who go above and beyond to ensure every student feels valued, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. I see incredible students who arrive each day with smiles, curiosity and a willingness to learn, help one another and make us proud. I see parents and carers who partner with us, support us and place their trust in our school. Most importantly, I see a community that genuinely cares about its children and the future we are building together.

Brigalow State School is not defined by behaviour concerns. It is defined by kindness, respect, resilience and the strong relationships that make our school such a special place. While, like every school, we support students through challenges when they arise, these moments do not define who we are. They are only a small part of the much bigger picture.

The overwhelming majority of our students consistently demonstrate our school values, embrace learning and contribute positively to our school culture. They are a credit to their families and to our community.

I would like to sincerely thank our dedicated staff for their unwavering commitment, our wonderful students for the pride they show in our school, our parents and carers for their continued support, and our wider Brigalow community for always standing beside us.

Together, we have created a school where every child is known, valued and supported to succeed. It is something we can all be proud of, and I look forward to continuing to build on that success with you all.

There is something truly special about community groups and schools coming together. Last week, we were delighted to once again welcome LCM Support to our school. The LCM team and their clients hosted a wonderful morning of Christmas in July activities, bringing joy, laughter and plenty of fun for our students.
We are incredibly grateful for this ongoing partnership and the meaningful connections it creates within our school community. Thank you to the entire LCM team for your continued support, generosity and the positive impact you have on our students. We truly appreciate all that you do.

Our Prep-2 class had a 100 reasons to smile this week! Celebrating 100 days of fun and learning with a special morning tea with families and friends and lots of games focussed around the number 100. More photos to come soon!
