Crew 3 have kicked off their community project, building a large animal hutch for Eventide Sanctuary

As part of the Build Up Tassie Pre-Employment Program, participants put their practical skills to the test through community projects that make a real difference. We love giving back and supporting the amazing organisations in our community.

Eventide Sanctuary provides a haven for rescued animals and is committed to both animal welfare and environmental conservation.

Build Up Tassie is out and about!

A big part of the Build Up Tassie program is getting out of the workshop and exploring real workplaces, meeting industry professionals, and learning about hands-on career pathways.

So far, this crew has visited Hazell Bros Group, Loreto Community Housing's Grounds Maintenance team, Tas TAFE's Construction and Allied Trades campus, St Joseph Affordable Homes' Joinery Workshop, and St Joseph Affordable Homes' residential construction sites in Glenorchy and Bridgewater.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experiences, insights, and advice. These opportunities help our participants gain valuable knowledge about the many career paths available in the construction and trade sectors.

Thanks RACT! 🚗

Crew 3 recently had the opportunity to take part in a workshop with Allison from RACT’s Youth Road Safety Program.

The session covered key topics including the risks of driving under the influence, making safe decisions behind the wheel, and practical ways to stay safe on Tasmania’s roads. Thanks, Allison, for sharing your knowledge and helping our participants build confidence and awareness.

White Card Amazing Race! 🏃‍➡️
Before sitting their White Card assessment, the Crew took part in an Amazing Race designed to test their safety knowledge.

Teams raced through 10 activities covering topics such as power tool safety, PPE, asbestos, risk management, and hazard reduction.

Congratulations to Elke and Ada for taking out the win in a dramatic race to the finish line!
