We are thrilled that Dr Leah Barclay will be presenting a talk as part of the Weaving Water @ Yarun program.

Leah is an Australian sound artist, designer and researcher who works at the intersection of art, science and technology. Barclay’s research and creative work over the last decade has investigated innovative approaches to recording and disseminating the soundscapes of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems to inform conservation, scientific research and public engagement. Her work explores ways we can use creativity, new technologies and emerging science to reconnect communities to the environment and inspire climate action.

Leah will be presenting a talk at the Bribie Island Seaside Museum as part of the Weaving Water @ Yarun ArtSci program.
The talk will complement the current exhibition Out of Sight, Out of Mind interactive ocean exhibition at the Bribie Island Seaside Museum.

This event is part of Treecreate’s inaugural Weaving Water @ Yarun program on Bribie Island with participants visiting from the USA, Europe, Asia, Vanuatu, Aotearoa New Zealand and interstate.

We are very excited that local legend Darren Jew will be presenting a talk as part of the Weaving Water @ Yarun program.

Darren is an award winning photographer of underwater, wildlife and landscape with a passion for the ocean. He graduated from the Queensland College of Art and worked in commercial photography before taking up a position as photographer with the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service. He has starred in the television documentary series ‘Tales by Light’ focusing on a select number of the world’s best photographers and is a five time winner of the Canon/AIPP Australian Science, Environment and Nature Photographer of the Year as well as being named as a Canon Master Photographer.
