Congratulations to Hendrix, who proudly represented the Sunshine Coast 10–12 Years team at the Queensland Championships in Bundaberg earlier this month.

Competing over four days, the team finished an impressive 5th in Queensland out of 12 regions.

Hendrix was the youngest player on the team and was awarded MVP twice by opposing teams – an outstanding achievement!

Congratulations, Hendrix! We are so proud of you!

Congratulations Lennox!

Congratulations to Lennox, who has qualified for the Sunshine Coast Regional Athletics Team in Long Jump and Tetrathlon!

The Tetrathlon consists of four events: 100m Sprint, Long Jump, Shot Put and 800m Run.

What a fantastic achievement, Lennox! We are very proud of you and wish you all the best at the Regional Championships.

Yesterday, 26 students from Years 4–6 represented our school at the Matt Gillett Cup here on Bribie Island. Our students represented Banksia with great pride, displaying our PURE values and demonstrating what it means to be a valued member of TEAM Banksia.

We are incredibly proud to share that both of our teams remained undefeated throughout the day! What a fantastic achievement!

A huge thank you to Mr Watson and Mr Seaby for giving up their time to train the teams and support our students on the day. Your time and dedication are greatly appreciated.

Well done to all of our students, you should be very proud of your efforts!

Orders for the Class of 2026 Signature Tees close on Friday 11 September, and there are still plenty of Year 6 families who have not ordered yet.

These shirts are a great keepsake from the students’ final year at Banksia Beach State School, and the P&C is covering half the cost, so families pay just $16.

Today was a very persuasive day in Grade 2! Mrs Coutts’ office had an endless line of students ready to present and persuade. Year 2 are working on a persuasive speaking task about the best place to go on excursion…. I wonder where they might go?

Sorry parents if we have been too good at teaching this unit of work🤣. The students absolutely, shared their strong opinions with expert level pitch, tone, volume and gestures.
