BOOK WEEK at Eco Kids! 📚

Thing 1 and Thing 2 have officially arrived… and Book Week is well and truly underway! ❤️💙

There’s something pretty special about seeing favourite stories come to life and the excitement that fills Eco Kids when the children (and educators!) step into the wonderful world of books.
Don’t forget — children are welcome to dress up as their favourite book characters every day this week!

Our front entrance has had a little Book Week magic, ready to welcome our children for a week filled with favourite stories, much-loved characters and all the fun that comes with bringing books to life.

And because one dress-up day is never enough, children are welcome to dress up every day this week in their favourite character or costume. 🧚‍♀️🦸‍♂️👑🐛

We can’t wait to see who comes through our doors each morning. 🥰

Today, our Kindergarten children participated in Soar into Bribie, a wonderful Pre-Prep transition program supporting children as they prepare for their transition to school next year. 🌱🎒

An important part of our Kindergarten program at Eco Kids is ensuring every child feels confident, secure and well supported throughout this exciting new chapter.

Connecting to Country through Bush Kindy 🌿

Bush Kindy is more than exploring the outdoors — it is about nurturing a deep connection to Country and learning to respect, appreciate and care for the land around us.

Walking along the Joondaburri Track and Shirley Creek, the children slowed down to listen, observe and connect with the trees, birds, mangroves and wildlife that call this place home. A special encounter with local Elder Uncle Ivan made our journey even more meaningful, as he shared his knowledge of the land and its native plants.

Through experiences like these, our children are learning that we belong to the land, and with that belonging comes the responsibility to respect, protect and care for Country. 🌿

This week we welcomed Clinton for another inspiring music session. 🎶

For the past two years, Clinton has been enriching our program through the gift of music, creating meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and connection. Music is a universal language, allowing children to communicate through both verbal and non-verbal expression while building confidence, coordination, listening skills and a sense of belonging.

As the children explored a variety of instruments, sang, danced and moved to the rhythm, they discovered the joy of learning through sound, movement and shared experiences.

Thank you, Clinton, for two years of bringing passion, laughter and the magic of music to our Eco Kids community. 💚

A special thank you to our local Member of Parliament, Ariana Doolan, for visiting Eco Kids today with a generous donation for our Pyjama Foundation drive. Your generosity and support mean so much to our community.

We'd also like to thank our wonderful Eco Kids families for their ongoing kindness and generous donations. Every pair of pyjamas, book and gift collected will help support children in foster care through the incredible work of the Pyjama Foundation.

It's moments like these that show our children the power of kindness, compassion and giving back to others. Thank you to everyone who has helped make a difference. 💚

A Beautiful Moment of Connection 🎨🌿

Today our Toddler and Kindergarten children shared a beautiful painting experience through our new perspex painting panel. While on opposite sides of the fence, they were connected through colour, creativity, and smiles.

It was a joy to watch the toddlers explore the vibrant colours while the Kindergarten children painted, creating a shared experience filled with curiosity, laughter, and wonder. Sometimes the simplest moments create the most meaningful learning experiences.

A big thank you to Eco Playscapes for creating this beautiful addition to our outdoor environment. We absolutely love it! 💚
