What a fantastic Try a Trade experience for 50 students from Beenleigh State High School!
Students got hands-on and explored Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, Automotive and Engineering through practical activities and industry-led learning.
It was a massively successful day, giving students the opportunity to try new skills, discover different career pathways and get a taste of what a future in the trades could look like.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success!

Another important milestone for our CSQ Funded Year 12 Trade Ready students — completing their RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights and RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces training.

These nationally recognised units help students build practical skills while reinforcing the importance of safety, awareness and preparation when working in higher-risk environments.

It’s fantastic to see our students continuing to add valuable, recognised skills to their toolkit as they explore construction career pathways and prepare for their upcoming placement opportunities.
Well done to all our students on reaching this milestone!

For a lot of Year 12 students, this is the closest they've come to a real trade tool.

Our CSQ Funded Trade Ready students in Cairns spent the day getting hands-on with hand and power tools, working out how they actually feel to use rather than just hearing about them.

Blake from Makita turned up with gear, kitted the students out in merch, and walked them through the tools like they were already on the job. The Cairns Woodworkers Guild brought their own trade knowledge into the room as well.
It's this kind of access to industry that makes Trade Ready different.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 30 Industry Liaison Officers to our Meadowbrook Campus for a firsthand look at what training at Australian Trade Training College is all about!

Just like the students they support, our guests explored a range of trade pathways through engaging presentations and practical insights from our Plumbing, Construction, Engineering, Horticulture, Electrical and Automotive trainers.

A big thank you to our Southside VETiS Coordinator, Charli Bell, for organising such a fantastic event, and to everyone who attended and helped make the day a great success. We loved showcasing the opportunities available through vocational education and look forward to continuing to work together to support the next generation of skilled professionals.

What does the transition from training to industry really look like?

For Ethan, Trade Ready (in partnership with Construction Skills Queensland - CSQ ) was only a starting point to build practical skills, confidence and a mindset focused on success.

Now a first-year apprentice with KeyBuild Services, Ethan reflects on the journey that brought him here, the value of hands-on training, and what he's looking forward to as his career takes shape.

Every apprenticeship starts somewhere. We're proud to have been part of Ethan's journey.

Last week, we celebrated the achievements of our VETiS students with graduation ceremonies across our Meadowbrook and Brendale campuses.

These graduations marked the culmination of our students' hard work, commitment and hands-on learning throughout their training. We are incredibly proud of each graduate and the dedication they have shown in developing valuable trade skills and preparing for their future careers.

Congratulations to all of our VETiS graduates. We wish you every success as you take the next step in your trade journey.

What a day at the Logan IGNITE Youth Careers Expo yesterday!

Plenty of great conversations about trade pathways, hands-on learning, and some seriously impressive toolboxes taking shape. It was fantastic to see students getting stuck in, building practical skills, asking questions, and exploring where a career in the trades could take them.

Days like these are a great reminder of the value of hands-on learning and the opportunities that come from giving something new a go. Looking forward to seeing where these future tradies head next!
