10 Hours. One Book. An Incredible Achievement! Just under 50 Genesis Secondary students took on the annual Write a Book in a Day challenge over the weekend — and what a fabulous day it was!

The day was also about making a difference, with teams raising more than $4,000 collectively for The Kids’ Cancer Project.

A huge congratulations to all our students for embracing the challenge and working together to bring their stories to life. And a special thank you to the wonderful Genesis teachers who volunteered their time to support our students throughout the day.

Congratulations, Brendan! We are proud to celebrate Brendan Keogh, Director of Genesis Sport & Aquatics, on his induction as a Life Member of Swimming Queensland, recognising more than 30 years of outstanding service to swimming.

A highlight of Brendan’s career has been serving as National Para Swimming Head Coach from 2002–2012 and again in 2016, sharing his expertise and passion while helping athletes reach the highest levels of the sport.

His contribution extends far beyond coaching. Brendan has developed swimmers, coaches and clubs, mentored countless people across the industry, and played a leading role in creating the Multi-Class Point Score System, now implemented nationally to support fair and equitable competition for swimmers with a disability.

Book Character Day is here! Our Genesis students stepped into the pages of their favourite books, arriving at school dressed as much-loved characters to celebrate the joy and value of reading.

From classic characters to modern favourites, the creativity and imagination on display have been incredible! There’s been such a wonderful variety of costumes across the College, making for a fun-filled celebration of storytelling, imagination and a whole lot of bookish fun.

What a fabulous morning at our very first Genesis Primary Fathers Morning!

Nearly 400 Fathers joined their children for a wonderful morning filled with connection, laughter and fun. From taking on the Challenge Quest and visiting classrooms to getting involved in outdoor activities, our Dads embraced every opportunity to make memories with their children.

Most importantly, it was a chance to connect with other dads and enjoy time together as a Genesis community.

A huge thank you to all the Dads who joined us and made our first Genesis Fathers Morning so special. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

📚 Tomorrow is Book Character Day! Today our Primary School Students will be joining in the fun too.

Students can step straight out of the pages and come dressed as a favourite book character. From classics to contemporary favourites, we can’t wait to see who arrives at school!

Students are encouraged to choose characters from stories that were first published as books and are reminded that costumes must be appropriate for the school environment and comfortable for a full day of activities.
