A huge congratulations to our Young Families Connect Coordinator, Corinne Harper, who has been named a finalist in the 2026 Ipswich and West Moreton Region Child Protection Week Awards.

Corinne has been recognised for raising awareness of the importance of child protection through her work supporting young parents to continue accessing education.

Through Young Families Connect, Corinne provides vital support to young parents and families within our school community, helping to create safe, connected and supportive environments for children and families.

Congratulations and good luck, Corinne. This recognition is very well deserved!

Could you be in the running for the 2026 Moran Medal Award?

The Moran Medal recognises a student who has demonstrated outstanding participation or involvement in community sporting clubs.

You should nominate yourself if you:

• Play for a sporting club or association
• Help a sporting club or association
• Volunteer in community sport
• Referee or officiate

All students are eligible to nominate.

Nominations close Friday 11th September 2026. The winner will be presented with the Moran Medal at the Sports Awards Ceremony in Week 3 of Term 4.

The past two weeks have certainly been busy at Ipswich State High School, with our community celebrating National Science Week, Bullying No Way Week, Speech Pathology Week and Book Week...

This Speech Pathology Week, we are celebrating our amazing speech pathologists, Ms Chen and Ms Gilloway, and the important difference they make across our school community.

Through their support with communication, speech, language and literacy, they help our students build confidence and develop skills that support their learning every day. They also provide valuable assistance to our deaf and hard of hearing students and help make milestone assessments more accessible for our YFC students.

Thank you for the care, expertise and encouragement you bring to Ipswich State High School. We are incredibly grateful for all that you do.

Our Year 12 Hospitality students put their skills into action yesterday, running their own café for family and friends.

Students worked together to prepare, cook and serve a delicious selection of food for approximately 30 guests, gaining valuable hands on experience in a busy café environment.

It was wonderful to see their teamwork, professionalism and confidence on display. Congratulations to everyone involved in creating such a welcoming experience for their guests.

Yesterday morning, around 150 students came together to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast and a warm start to the day.

A huge thank you to Chappie Jaida for making the morning possible and for the wonderful support she continues to provide our students and school community.

Our Year 11 students recently gathered to celebrate an exciting milestone as they prepare to become the Class of 2027.

During the assembly, students were introduced to their new senior jersey and, for the first time, a dedicated senior polo. The artwork featured across both pieces tells a story of connection to Yuggera Country, culture, family and community, reflecting the values of guidance, resilience, leadership and belonging. It also reminds students to respect Country, support one another and carry these values into the future.

We look forward to seeing the Class of 2027 proudly wearing their new senior uniforms and stepping into their final year at Ipswich State High School.

50 DAYS TO GO

Our Year 12 students have officially reached an exciting milestone, with just 50 days remaining in their final year of school.

Yesterday, they celebrated with a student chosen pyjama themed disco.

We are incredibly proud of everything these students have achieved throughout their time at Ipswich State High School. Congratulations, Year 12. The finish line is in sight, and we cannot wait to see you make the most of these final 50 days.
