HAPPY FATHER’S DAY 💙

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome our dads, grandfathers and special men to St Bede’s for our Father’s Day celebrations.

We began the morning with a delicious breakfast before school, prepared and served by our wonderful staff, before gathering together for a special Father’s Day Liturgy. Our Kindergarten and Year 6 students did a beautiful job leading the liturgy, supported by Mr Gilbert and Miss Cooper, as we gave thanks for the fathers, grandfathers and special men who love, guide and support us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so special. We hope all of our St Bede’s dads and father figures have had a wonderful Father’s Day today!

MINI VINNIES SLEEP OUT 💙😴

On Thursday night, 36 students joined us for our Mini Vinnies Sleep Out event, participating in activities designed and led by our Mini Vinnies leaders to build awareness and understanding of homelessness.

Students created a collaborative artwork, built cardboard shelters, completed a scavenger hunt, played a Basic Needs Spotlight game and shared a simple dinner served by our Mini Vinnies leaders. There was plenty of fun and plenty of learning along the way!

We are incredibly proud to have more than doubled our fundraising goal of $800, raising an amazing $1,738 for our local Braidwood Vinnies Conference!

Ms Doszpot, Mrs Bradley, Miss Cooper and Mr Gilbert then braved the cold and slept out overnight in the students’ cardboard shelters, which thankfully kept them warm and stayed standing until morning!

BOOK WEEK 📕

From classic characters to modern favourites, our students arrived in an amazing array of costumes today. We laughed our way through a staff performance of The Wizard of Oz, enjoyed some fantastic Book Week rotations and celebrated our shared love of reading. MINI VINNIES SLEEP OUT FUNDRAISER 💙😴

Today is the day! Can we show our best St Bede’s Braidwood gratitude and thanks to Miss Cooper, Mr Gilbert, our Mini Vinnie’s team and sleep out teachers by doubling our fundraising goal by this afternoon?

Our Sleep Out is an opportunity for students to build awareness, empathy and compassion, while taking action to support people experiencing hardship in our own community. Homelessness isn’t always visible but our support can be.

There’s still time to support our Mini Vinnies Team, with all funds raised going to the Braidwood St Vincent de Paul Conference.

Congratulations to our wonderful 8 children who received the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Saturday evening. We extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Miss Cooper, Mrs Bradley and the families who supported and prepared the children so beautifully to receive the sacrament.
Thank you also to Father Sijo and the St Bede’s parish community for coming together to celebrate this special milestone.

MINI VINNIES SLEEP OUT FUNDRAISER 💙😴

This Thursday, some of our students will be learning more about the reality of homelessness and disadvantage, and the challenges faced by people who may not have a safe and secure place to call home at our Mini Vinnies Sleep Out event.

Homelessness isn’t always visible. It can mean sleeping rough, but it can also mean staying in temporary accommodation, moving between family and friends, or living somewhere that is unsafe or insecure.

Our Sleep Out is an opportunity for students to build awareness, empathy and compassion, while taking action to support people experiencing hardship in our own community.

There’s still time to support our Mini Vinnies Team, with all funds raised going to the Braidwood St Vincent de Paul Conference.
