This week, to kick off our 10-year anniversary celebrations, we took advantage of this incredible weather we have been having and headed off to the coast ☀️

A day at the beach was exactly what we needed, spending time catching up with the sun on our faces and toes in the sand 🏖️

Mental health is an important topic for everyone in society, but this is perhaps especially true when it comes to fostering

Research suggests that around 45% of looked-after children have a diagnosable mental health disorder, and up to 70%-80% have recognisable mental health concerns

📱 The Government has announced plans to ban social media for under-16s.

The proposed measures aim to strengthen online safety, reduce children's exposure to harmful content, and encourage more time spent learning, playing and connecting offline. The changes are expected to come into force in Spring 2027.

For foster carers, supporting children and young people to navigate the digital world has always been an important part of everyday life. Whether it's setting healthy boundaries, having open conversations about online safety, or helping children build positive digital habits, trusted adults play a vital role.

Whatever your views on the proposed ban, one thing is clear: children benefit from caring adults who listen, guide and support them as they grow up in an increasingly digital world. ❤️

Panel - A group made up of independent members who review the assessment of potential foster carers as well as look at foster carers' first reviews, post allegation reviews, and hear of foster carer resignations and terminations

Panel members will be made up of the responsible person for the agency, a social worker, a foster carer, a care leaver and independent members with a professional background, making them appropriate to review current and prospective foster carers. Our panel members are very friendly, so no reason to be scared. If you are attending panel with the hopes of becoming an approved foster carer, they will want to have a chat with you about how you have found the process and will ask any questions that they have relating to your application. They will be able to give you their recommendation on the day, which will then be put to the Agency Decision Maker.
