A fantastic and memorable evening at the UKMAS, where Shihan Abrar was honoured with the prestigious “Legend Award” and inducted into the Hall of Fame 2026. 🏆

This recognition represents many years of dedication, discipline and commitment to martial arts, as well as the countless students who have been inspired and developed along the way. A truly special achievement and another proud chapter in the journey. 🙏🥋

The event was made even more memorable by meeting and spending time with martial arts legend Benny “The Jet” Urquidez Benny “The Jet” Urquidez . A true icon of the fighting world and an inspiration to generations of martial artists. It was an honour to share the occasion with so many respected martial artists, instructors and champions from across the country.

A night to remember and an award to be extremely proud of. The journey continues!

It was great to welcome England international cricketer Adil Rashid back to Renshinkai Karate. Many people know Adil for his incredible achievements on the cricket field, but before representing England, he was also a dedicated student of Renshinkai Karate. It was wonderful to see him return to the dojo and reconnect with his instructor who helped shape part of his early journey.

For Shihan Abrar Hussain, this visit was especially meaningful. Seeing a former student return after so many years, having achieved success while remaining humble and respectful, is one of the greatest rewards for any instructor. Karate is not just about learning how to fight, it is about developing character. These values stay with our students long after they leave the dojo.

Thank you for taking the time to visit your old dojo. Everyone at ABS Martial Arts - Renshinkai Karate wishes you continued success, good health, and all the very best for the future. 🥋🏏

A sensei does far more than teach techniques; they shape confidence, instil discipline, encourage perseverance, and help students overcome challenges both inside and outside the dojo. As students mature, they carry these lessons throughout their lives, and caring for those who once guided them becomes a natural expression of appreciation and honour.

A dojo becomes a family, and the relationship between a student and their sensei is one of mutual respect that grows stronger with time. The greatest tribute a student can pay to their instructor is not only mastering technique but living by the values they were taught and, when the time comes, showing the same compassion, respect, and unwavering support that was once given to them. This enduring cycle of teaching, learning, and giving back is what keeps the true spirit of karate alive across generations.
