Music For Canberra Music for Canberra is a not-for-profit organisation that provides access to inspiring and inclusive musical experiences in the ACT.

We believe that music-making plays a vital role in developing cognitive function and creating community & friendships. As a Key Arts Organisation, Music for Canberra develops unique performance opportunities and surprising collaborations to bring the community together and enrich the cultural fabric of this city. We have fantastically diverse programs from ukulele ensembles to violin duets, from our unique Mixed Ability Program (MAP) for adults living with disability to our renowned Canberra Children’s Choir (CCC). There is music to be made and enjoyed by everyone! MfC is renowned for our excellent ensembles that range from budding string players right through to the capital’s premier youth orchestra the Canberra Youth Orchestra. We strive to challenge our elite young talent with inventive and inclusive programming in new spaces and in new partnerships. Music for Canberra is supported by artsACT and the Snow Foundation.

Tomorrow, Woden Valley Youth Choir is bringing the joy of music to the Canberra Writers Festival! ❤️

The 2026 Canberra Writers Festival begins tomorrow, Thursday 15 October, bringing four days of talks, conversations, workshops, performances and plenty of opportunities to celebrate books, stories and ideas right across Canberra. 📖✨

And Music for Canberra is excited to be part of it!

In 10 days, on Thursday 22 October, AusArt Day will bring artists and arts organisations across Australia together for a nationwide day of support for the arts. 🎨🎶🎭

This year, Music for Canberra is taking part, raising funds to help support Carols by Candlelight — our much-loved end-of-year celebration bringing music, young performers and the Canberra community together at Stage 88. 🎄✨

Over the next 10 days, we’ll be sharing more about what your support makes possible, the people behind the music, and why opportunities to make and share music with our community matter.

🎶💙 Welcome back to Term 4! 💙🎶

The school holidays are coming to an end, which means Music for Canberra is getting ready for another term of music, learning, friendship and community. 🎻🎺🎤

A big welcome back to all our students, parents, families, volunteers, tutors, conductors and community members! ❤️

Whether you're picking up your instrument after the holidays, getting ready for your first rehearsal, volunteering behind the scenes, or simply coming along to support our musicians, you are an important part of the Music for Canberra community.

Term 4 is set to be a busy one, with rehearsals, performances and plenty of opportunities to share music with Canberra — including preparations for our much-loved Carols by Candlelight in December. 🎄✨

We're looking forward to seeing familiar faces back in rehearsal rooms, welcoming new members to our community and making plenty of musical memories together.

🎀❤️ Red Tree Bows are coming to Music for Canberra! ❤️🎀

If you've spent a Christmas in Canberra, you may already know the festive sight we're talking about — homes, streets and gardens decorated with beautiful red tree bows. 🎄❤️

This Christmas, Music for Canberra will be selling red tree bows, giving Canberra families another way to add a little extra colour and Christmas spirit to their homes and communities. ✨

We're excited to be part of this much-loved Canberra Christmas tradition and to bring a little more festive joy to our city.

And there's an extra-special connection for us:
🎶 Funds raised through our red tree bow sales will help support Music for Canberra's Carols by Candlelight, our much-loved end-of-year community celebration at Stage 88.

So while you're decorating for Christmas, you'll also be helping support music, young performers and a special community event right here in Canberra. ❤️
