READY FOR NYE.

With the Picture Book show at Picton Bowling Club.

New strings, presets created, charts done.

I haven't done a NYE gig in years....totally over the parking and load in hassells in the inner city......not to mention trying to avoid running over drunken pedestrians on the way home.

But this gig was perfect, just down the road, parking, easy load, and great players and nice people.

Looking forward to it.

I'VE BEEN BUSY MAKING BASS VIDEOS.....PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT.

I've been playing bass for as long as I've been playing guitar, but I'm mainly known around the traps as a guitar/sax player.

So I thought I'd do a series of videos that showcase my Bass skills (such as they are).

I've mainly stuck to "bread and butter" genres and generic style bass lines to demonstrate my usefulness in a freelance situation.

f you have a blues/funk/soul gig I could just drop into for the night, just let me know.

I can sing a good portion of my vocal repertoire and play bass if that helps give your lead vocalist a break.

FANTASTIC FREELANCE GIG ON SATURDAY

With the “Hot Shots”

A mixture of 50s and 60s material, plus some modern Country material and a little bit of Blues.

Highly professional and well organised band, and nice people....packed the dance floor the whole night.

Chord charts on IPAD, walk in and just play!

BIG MUSICAL WEEK THIS WEEK.
Tuesday I took a few students down to the Macarthur Country Music Club, so that they can eventually get up and play.

I got up and played/sang a couple of country songs..first time in about 30 years that I've sung a country song.

Friday night regular bass gig with the Jazz Big Band.

Saturday night I have a Guitar freelance gig with a Cover band at Kingswood.....mixture of 50/60 material, a bit of blues, and some modern country. Charts provided😃

Good tight professional band...should be an enjoyable gig.

I set up a bank of patches on the Axe 3 for the gig, Leslie and Vibrato, some fender amp models, sound clean country sounds and a few blues lead tones.

Will try and get to the SBS jam on Sunday as well.
