Riverstone Rise Early Learning Journey is a privately owned boutique childcare centre, focused on the holistic learning and development of children. Our new purpose built centre has been developed to ensure your child feels safe, secure and supported all the while promoting a sense of self-confidence and an enthusiasm for learning. We firmly believe children come first with the right to be recognised as people with valuable views and interests. Children want to feel they are loved, important and unique and nurturing the human spirit of your child is of greatest value to us. Every afternoon. 🎶

Well. Not quite. But our team did take the children on a walk outside of the centre, down the walkway and around to our Evacuation Point in the front car park!

The children and team are very well rehearsed in what to do in the event of an emergency, and now that we have our groovy prams it makes our Evacuation Rehearsals so much more time efficient and manageable for our smallest friends.

Even our Safety Bear, "King Safety" came along for the journey! 🐻

What do you get when you put a group of Early Childhood Educators together after dark?

You get that one that talks all the way through.
You get that one that came for the food.
The one that wishes this was an email.
One who was due for bed 2 hours ago.
..and that one that is way too enthusiastic for a team meeting!

BUT, team meetings are an essential part of our tip top delivery of top notch Education & Care for our families that put their trust in us each and every day, and that is why we spent our Wednesday night together.

With it being Child Protection Week next week, we came together to reflect on Quality Area 2 - Children's Health & Safety.

We discussed whether our current practices are enough, both as individuals and as a team and collaboratively we made plans for how we can do better and be better.

We even have a special visitor pencilled in for next week - Connie the Police Horse! Connie will come to discuss safe choices for our own bodies, and what to do if we don't feel safe.

When our Kindergarten Teacher, Miss Zuri was first asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was an archaeologist. So naturally I prepared a caricature of her as her dream job. ⚒️

The task at hand was simple - "Come dressed as what you wanted to be when you grew up". 👩‍🎓

We were expecting an archaeologist to walk through our doors, when in rolls an absolute Rock Star! 🎸

It just goes to show that sometimes you have a sensible idea on what your life should look like, when in actual fact it is way more fun to take a walk on the wild side! 🕶
