🚨 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱? 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆. 🚨

In Victoria, drivers must safely slow to 40 km/h when passing emergency, enforcement, towing, roadside-assistance or incident-response vehicles that are stationary or travelling below 10 km/h with flashing lights or an alarm operating.

Check your mirrors, reduce your speed gradually and remain at 40 km/h until you are safely clear of the entire scene. A few moments of patience can help protect the people working to keep our roads safe.

Slow down. Stay alert. Give them space. 🚗

🚧 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗦𝗪 🚧

A significant investment has been announced to upgrade a section of the Newell Highway north of Moree, and we're happy to see the roads becoming safer for motorists, freight operators, and local communities through improved infrastructure and reliability.

The planned works include:
• New heavy-duty road pavement
• Wider lanes and improved intersections
• Enhanced drainage and flood resilience
• Safer access for local communities

These improvements aim to strengthen one of regional NSW's key transport corridors while supporting safer travel and more efficient freight movement for years to come.

This is good news…

Ever driven through an empty road work zone at night and wondered why you still had to slow to 40 km/h?

It’s one of the most common driving frustrations people have raised with me over the years.

From 1 July, temporary road work speed limits must be removed outside work hours when it’s safe to do so. If changed road conditions still require a lower speed limit, the signs stay in place and drivers must continue to obey them.

It’s a practical, common-sense change that improves fairness while keeping safety first.
