π Our weekly Rosary continues to grow!
Students from Years 5β12 are invited each Thursday at recess to come together in prayer and reflection. Through the Rosary, students contemplate the mysteries of Jesus' life through the eyes of Mary, trusting in her loving intercession and deepening their faith.
Now in its fifth week, it has been wonderful to see such a strong turnout from students across the College. We are grateful for the opportunity to gather as a faith community and spend time in prayer together.
All students are welcome to join us each Thursday at recess.

πͺ Our Certificate II in Hospitality β Food and Beverage students have successfully completed Competency Task 1, focusing on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) in a commercial hospitality environment.
Students prepared a delicious menu featuring Tomato Bruschetta, Chicken Schnitzel with Grilled Tomato, and Corn Fritters with Coleslaw Salad while demonstrating industry-standard food preparation techniques.
Throughout the assessment, students developed and applied essential hospitality skills including safe knife handling, a range of knife cuts, butterflying chicken breasts, and using a salamander grill. The practical task also reinforced the importance of working safely, maintaining hygiene standards, and following correct kitchen procedures.
Congratulations to all students on their hard work and professionalism as they continue building the skills required for a career in the hospitality industry. ππ¨βπ³π©βπ³

At Santa Sophia Catholic College, we were privileged to welcome Rabbi Zalman Kastel to work with our students as they authentically explored the Sacred Texts of Judaism.
Through his wisdom, warmth and engaging storytelling, students gained a deeper understanding of the Jewish faith tradition and the significance of sacred scripture within Judaism. The experience was both intellectually enriching and deeply meaningful, fostering curiosity, respect and interfaith understanding within our learning community.
We are incredibly grateful to Rabbi Zalman Kastel for generously sharing his knowledge, experiences and personal insights. Opportunities such as these help our students grow in empathy, dialogue and appreciation for the diverse faith traditions that enrich our world.
Thank you for providing such an engaging and inspiring learning experience for our students and staff alike.
