Start Shining Tutoring As a qualified teacher with over 25 years experience, I offer Pre-K sessions and K-2 tutoring classes. Start Shining has been operating in the Hills since 2020.

Classes allow children to be succesful students in kindergarten and their schooling

Jordyn is in my Thursday pre-k class and is Start Shining’s student of the week 💖💜 Jordyn is such a sweetheart and a delight to teach. She tries her very best every week and is always so positive towards her learning. As one of my youngest pre-k students, her growth over the past three terms has been remarkable. Her fine motor skills have strengthened so much and she is forming all her letters and numbers with confidence. Jordyn is also doing amazing with knowing all of her sounds and reading CVC words. She participates in all class activities and is always so respectful to both myself and her peers. Jordyn has made many friends in the Thursday class due to her caring nature and I know she will thrive at school next year in all aspects of school life! 👩‍🏫💫💛

Sanjh is in my Friday pre-k class today and did such a wonderful job with reading Pat the Rat!! 🤩 From not knowing any of her sounds at the start of the year to now reading level 1 decodables, Sanjh has demonstrated such growth! She is becoming so confident and has such a love for reading. I am so proud of how far she has come. Well done my little superstar ✨👏💗

Charlotte is Start Shining’s student of the week. Charlotte is in my Friday pre-k class and is a pleasure to teach. She is always very enthusiastic towards her learning and has made remarkable progress since the beginning of the year. Charlotte always listens carefully and is such a respectful young girl. Her fine motor skills have improved immensely and she is forming her letters and numbers with such confidence. Charlotte has formed such wonderful friendships with the others in the Friday class and it’s been so lovely to see her come out of her shell. Well done Charlotte!! I’m so proud of my little star 💖🌟

This week my pre-k kiddies were busy learning all about shapes. In each class, the students were cutting shapes and have really improved with their fine motor skills! They did great with using scissors and were very careful with cutting along the lines. Well done my little stars 🌟🙌

We did miss lots of our little friends this week who were under the weather ❄️ I hope you’re all recovering well and feeling much better! I can’t wait to see all your gorgeous faces back next week! 💖

Ishir is Start Shining’s student of the week 🩵💙 Ishir is in my Monday pre-k class and is such a respectful young learner. He takes pride in his work and always tries his very best every week. Ishir is an absolute pleasure to teach and has such beautiful manners. I know his teacher will feel so lucky to be educating such a respectful and loving student. Ishir also has such a passion for learning and comes to class each week sharing everything he has learnt during the week. I can’t wait to continue to prepare him for kindergarten next year and give him the best start to his schooling experience 💫🌟

Zara is Start Shining’s student of the week 🩷💜 Zara is in my Wednesday pre-k class and always tries her very best. Today she took pride in all her work and did such beautiful and neat handwriting. She is becoming so confident with her sounds and CVC words and is well on her way to reading level 1 decodables! Zara is such a sweet little girl and the other students love how caring she is. She always congratulates the others students when they reach new milestones and she is such a friendly addition to the class. Zara is always so polite and I know her kindy teacher next year will be so lucky to have such a polite young girl in their classroom. Well done Zara, you are a little star 💖🌟

Yenul is Start Shining’s student of the week 🩵👏 Yenul is in my Thursday pre-k class and did amazing with his writing today. Every week he shows such enthusiasm in class and he has such a love for learning. He is progressing really well with his writing, sounds and number work and he loves telling me all about his adventures to the library to borrow decodable readers each week. I am so proud of how much he has already achieved and can’t wait to see further growth through the year. I know he will absolutely thrive in kindergarten next year 🙌🤩

Valentina is Start Shining’s student of the week 💜 Valentina is in my Thursday pre-k class and did amazing today with all her writing. She formed her letters so neatly and took such pride in her work. Valentina is a happy and friendly learner in the Thursday class. She has formed beautiful friendships and is always so kind and supportive of her peers. Valentina tries her very best each week and continues to reach new milestones. Anthony is Start Shining’s student of the week 🌟🙌 Anthony is in my Thursday pre-k class and is such an enthusiastic learner. He is also a very friendly child and is very kind to all the boys and girls in the Thursday class. Anthony tries his best every week and always gives 100%. Anthony’s fine motor skills have improved so much since term 1. His handwriting today was beautiful and he takes such pride in all his work. Today he did amazing with his sounds and number work. I am so proud of his progress each week and feel so lucky to educate such a happy and eager young learner 💙👏

Term 3 started back today and my Monday pre-k children were so excited to be in class reading the many decodable readers at Start Shining. Ishir read the book ‘Hit and hop’ with great confidence and enthusiasm. Well done Ishir, you like all my students at Start Shining are a star👏🤩🌟

Why I teach my pre-k children to read books!

📚 Children who are 3 and 4 years old love reading- Early reading is FUN.

😁Children have a positive experience learning words at Start Shining. The children gain confidence and self esteem and love learning.

✨Start Shining’s pre-k program is a yearly program so although some children will learn to read in a term, children have the year to learn to read so they feel happy about their successes!

👏Start Shining’s pre-k classes are a happy space for children to learn to read as all classes have a maximum of 7 children so they receive a lot of support and encouragement!

🌟When Start Shining’s pre-k children go to kindergarten they are thrilled that they can do the most fundamental skill required to learn!

📚The sooner children learn to read the sooner they read to learn. They can read all about the world around them.
