Who would have thought that playing the didgereedoo could be a career? We’ve found a gentlemen who’s done just that. Stax ‘The Didge Man’ will be performing and working with The Drama School students this week & next to pass on his skill and love of this instrument!

Many thanks to our guest artist Aine O’Neill who shared her knowledge of theatrical makeup with our students. If you haven’t worked with Aine yet you can look forward to a visit soon. The challenge was to create an alien hand. Some children worked on their own hand & some decided to turn their teachers hands into an art piece. And yes, those hand’s do look extra -terrestrial!

Now to celebrating one of our very talented past students!
Jordie Race-Coldrey studied with The Drama School throughout primary school. I still recall one of the first drama classes he attended as he expressed a feeling that he had found his place in the world!
Well he certainly HAS found his place as recently he added to his performing credits by winning a role in the ABC’s series of ‘Nowhere Boys’.
Not only is he a wonderfully talented performer he has all the hallmarks of a superb drama student by being a delightful collaborative worker and human being.
What an inspiration for us all!
Let us know if you or your child has been involved in a performance, won a special role or just as significantly been congratulated on their citizenship efforts. After all, drama is also about building healthy people skills and an understanding of the importance of team work.

A reminder that drama goes back next week!
Term 3 begins our ‘Specialist term’ where we invite various artists from the industry to provide students with an experience that increases their understanding of the scope of the Performing Arts. Last year we certainly had kids surprised as one of our specialists had combined her passion for science and drama to shape a career as an actor with the Science Circus.
We’ll let you know about our first guest when dates are confirmed!

The Drama School has finally been launched on Facebook and we’re excited!
We hope it will be a place where people can share their dramatic experiences, a place where we can keep you informed about what we offer our students, a place where we can show off our achievements, a place where we can connect as a growing community of Performing Arts supporters!
