We have been very busy installing new flooring at Mt Gibraltar this Christmas. Thanks to David Chapman and team who is doing a fabulous job.

We have a basket in front of our preschool for anyone who is short of essential supplies

We had a beautiful Friday afternoon cooking sausages on our fire pit. All the children took turn to practice with the fire striker to build a fire. We discuss about fire safety and had lots of conversations with our children about going camping and cooking sausages.
Outdoor learning such as building a fire establish children's learning to risk-taking, resilience and building self-esteem. There is also STEM learning when building a fire because the children could feel the heat generated, discussing the colours of the flames, and the direction of the smoke as the wind changes.
During our activity, the children move around the circle to position themselves away from the smoke.
Cooking sausages is also an art form and to patiently wait for the sausages to cook is a skills that children can master for their own wellbeing.
