Our School Readiness Program is designed especially for children aged 4–5 years, helping them build the skills, confidence and independence they need for a positive transition to school.

Through engaging, play-based learning experiences, children develop:

✏️ 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 – recognising letters, sounds and beginning writing skills
🔢 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 – numbers, counting, patterns and problem-solving
🤝 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 – sharing, turn-taking, teamwork and making friends
💬 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – listening, following instructions and expressing ideas
🎒 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – managing belongings, routines and everyday tasks
🧠 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – having a go, solving problems and adapting to new experiences
✂️ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 – strengthening little hands for drawing, writing and classroom activities

School readiness is about more than knowing letters and numbers. It’s about helping children become confident, curious and capable learners who feel ready for their next big adventure. 🌈

A huge THANK YOU to Potter's Pantry Bundanoon for once again delivering the goods for our Educators Day lunch packs!

There’s something so lovely about being able to spoil our incredible educators with a delicious lunch made with care. Year after year, Potter’s Pantry helps us make the day feel that little bit more special — and we are so grateful. 🥰

🏃‍♀️ 𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒃𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 ☀️

The Koalas enjoyed a lovely morning outdoors at Bowral Street Childcare, making the most of the sunshine and exploring the environment around them ☀️

One of the favourite activities for the day was the 𝒐𝒃𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆, where the children were able to build confidence, practise coordination and challenge themselves with climbing and movement. It was wonderful to see them return to the activity throughout the morning, following their interests and asking for support when needed.

The 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒑𝒊𝒕 was also full of imagination and teamwork, with the children creating delicious pretend meals and engaging in meaningful play with their friends 🏜️

It was a joyful morning of exploration, creativity and active learning, followed by a delicious lunch and some rest before more fun in the afternoon 💛

🐛🍎 The Very Hungry Caterpillar Sensory Experience 🍓🍃

Little hands explored, squished, scooped and discovered their way through The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🌈✨

Inspired by the much-loved story, this sensory experience encouraged children to explore different textures, colours and foods while bringing the caterpillar’s journey to life. 🐛🍐🍊🍰🦋

A beautiful way to combine storytelling, sensory play and hands-on learning! 💚

Through play, children explore ideas, build relationships, solve problems, express creativity and make sense of the world around them. What may look simple on the surface often involves deep learning underneath.

Play-based learning allows educators to follow children’s interests while also supporting important developmental outcomes in meaningful ways.

It is one of the reasons early learning environments are designed to be rich in choice, exploration and connection.

Prof Lea Waters AM is a psychologist, researcher and author, and one of the world's leading voices in positive psychology. Her book The Strength Switch made a simple case that turned out to be a hard habit to build - that the fastest way to help a child grow is to pay attention to what they're already good at, rather than only what needs fixing.

On Monday 31 August she's in Bowral for two sessions:
