🍃🎨 Creativity, Collaboration & Kindness 🌸💚

Today, our children explored their creativity through a range of hands-on art experiences. Using leaves, flowers, paint and natural materials, they created beautiful artworks inspired by the world around them.

Alongside their individual creations, the children also participated in a group kindness collage, working together to contribute ideas, share materials and create something meaningful as a team.

It was wonderful to see the children's imaginations come to life as they created, collaborated and celebrated kindness together. 🌿✨

🖐️👣 Our Koala Room children have been busy creating something very special!

The children explored painting with their hands and feet to create colourful prints while learning about our room expectations together. Through this experience, the children were encouraged to use gentle hands and feet, kind words, take turns and listen to one another.

These meaningful experiences help support children’s sense of belonging, identity and connection within our learning environment. We love seeing the children contribute to creating their own classroom culture and expectations together 💚🐨

This coming Monday 11 May 2026, the NSW Department of Education is welcoming Nathan Wallis — neuroscience educator from Brainy Parenting — to Moss Vale High School for two engaging parent sessions.

While the afternoon session is advertised for primary school parents, it is a fantastic opportunity for parents of younger children too — especially those with children transitioning to school in the next couple of years. Understanding how young brains develop is invaluable at every stage, and the earlier families have access to this knowledge, the better the outcomes for children.

Nathan is renowned for making brain science warm, accessible and immediately practical. Families will walk away with real strategies to use at home to support their child's behaviour, learning and wellbeing.

Sensory play with everyday materials helps children grow in so many ways:

🟤 **Sand play** – Builds fine motor skills, hand strength, and early problem-solving as kids dig, pour, and create. It’s also calming and supports focus.

🍳 **Cooking activities** – Engage all the senses while developing math (measuring), language (following steps), and independence. The children loved baking for their Mother's Day Gifts.

🍃 **Leaf play** – Exploring leaves through touch, smell, and sound connects children to nature, sparks curiosity, and supports creativity and observation skills.

These small, hands-on moments help children understand their world—one texture, smell, and discovery at a time 💛
