Zone Soccer Gala Day

Our High School students recently represented Southern Highlands Christian School at the Zone Soccer Gala Day, competing against schools from across the region.

Throughout the day, students displayed great sportsmanship, determination, teamwork, and resilience on the field. It was wonderful to see them encouraging one another, playing with enthusiasm, and proudly representing our school community.

A big thank you to the staff, organisers, and supporters who made the day possible. Well done to all our students for their efforts and the way they reflected our school values both on and off the field!

Bowral Youth Forum & Public Speaking Competition

Last week Mrs Story took five of our Year 11 students to take part in the NSW Parliament Regional Roadshow Public Speaking Competition and Youth Forum.
The competition and forum gave young people the chance to speak directly to parliamentarians about the issues affecting their lives, their communities, and their future.

Our students Max A, Will A, Lilli B, and Gaby D, raised important issues such as housing affordability, environmental concerns and youth mental health during the forum discussion. Ben S presented a stirring speech about chasing your dreams; speaking from the heart about his own dream to become a professional jazz musician!

The Member for Wollondilly Judy Hannan MP , and President of the NSW Legislative Council, Ben Franklin generously gave their time and support to encourage the next generation of leaders at this fantastic event.

Marvelous Meggie Adventures at SHCS

Being a school dog is hard work! Between listening to students read, offering a calming presence, and making new friends around the school, sometimes a quick snooze is needed.

Meggie is a much-loved member of the Southern Highlands Christian School community, bringing comfort, encouragement, and plenty of smiles wherever she goes.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our students recently stepped behind the scenes at Austyle Windows & Doors, gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of a successful local business. From manufacturing processes to customer service and business management, students experienced firsthand how classroom concepts are applied in the real world.

At Southern Highlands Christian School, we believe meaningful learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Opportunities like these help students explore future career pathways, develop practical understanding, and grow in confidence as they prepare to make a positive impact in their communities.

Wonder, Discovery and Feathered Friends

There was plenty of excitement and wonder in Kindergarten as our curious learners met some very special visitors!

From gently holding fluffy chicks and ducklings to observing them up close, our Kindy children embraced every opportunity to explore, ask questions, and discover more about God's amazing creation. The joy on their faces said it all as they learned about life cycles, caring for animals, and the unique characteristics of each feathered friend.
