The First Nations Dance Ensemble brings students from NSW public schools together to share culture, stories and connection through movement on the Pulse Alive stage. 🌟

Schools can nominate groups of students from Kindergarten to Year 12, with no audition video required. 🎭✨

📚✨ Little Bowning heads to the big smoke for Book Week! ✨📚

We made sure everyone knew Bowning was in town! 😄 Our fabulous book characters embraced the Book Week spirit as we headed out for a day packed with adventure.

From book hunting and plenty of play at the park, to exploring the wonderful new Yass Library, there was something for everyone. 📖🌳

We also enjoyed a wonderful symphony of sounds, listening to and learning from some of our talented local music makers. 🎶🎵

A big thank you to everyone who helped organise such a fantastic day. Our little Bowning crew certainly made the most of their big adventure! ❤️📚

Small school, big adventures!

Yesterday, Bowning Public School was full of crazy hair, big smiles and even bigger messages of kindness!

Our students got creative with their hairstyles while celebrating an important message — Bullying NO WAY! 🚫

We talked about the power of kind words, including others, standing up for friends and making sure everyone feels safe, welcome and valued. 🤝✨

Our 2–6 students had an out-of-this-world experience at NASA and Mount Stromlo. 🌌

They loved getting up close to moon rock and meteorites, learning about incredible space rovers, and discovering what it is like to explore the surface of Mars. 🔴🪐
There was so much excitement, curiosity and wonder as our students learned about space, planets and the amazing technology that helps us explore beyond Earth. A great science week excursion.

Dear Kindergarten Families,

A very warm welcome to our Bowning Public School community! 💙 We are so excited to welcome your children to Bowning PS and begin getting to know your families.

As we look towards Kindergarten transition in Term 4, we would love to encourage families to pop along to our Bowning Playgroup on Fridays from 9.15–11.00am during Term 4. Playgroup is a lovely, relaxed opportunity for your child to become familiar with our school, meet other children and families, and begin to feel comfortable in the Bowning PS environment before transition begins.

We will also soon be reaching out to our local preschools to organise opportunities for Mrs Worland and Miss Ally to visit, meet our new Kindergarten students and say hello. We have attached our Kindergarten Transition dates so you can pop them in the calendar.

We are also very happy to observe children who may need additional support when starting Kindergarten. If you have any concerns or would like us to begin planning additional support, please let us know. We want to make sure every child has a positive, confident and supported start to school.

👕 Keep Calm, I’m Going to Bowning PS!

We also have our very special “Keep Calm, I’m Going to Bowning PS” T-shirts for our new Kindergarten students to wear during transition and beyond! I know some families may already have a shirt from an older sibling, and we are very happy to recycle these. Otherwise, please call our office and let us know your child’s T-shirt size, and we will make sure they have one ready for transition. Miss Vanessa and Miss Jess are always a phone call away and happy to hear from you. Most importantly, please know that you are very welcome to be part of our school community from now. You don't have to wait until Kindergarten starts to get involved!

We also understand that transition looks different for every child. Some children may be ready to jump straight in, while others may need a little more time, extra visits, a familiar face or a different approach. We are more than happy to tailor the transition process to suit your child and what they need to feel safe, confident and excited about starting school.

Our Kindergarten information packs contain everything you need to help prepare for the start of the year. We will also communicate open Uniform Shop dates early in the year, as we know how quickly little people grow! During the first few weeks of school, we will hold our Kindergarten information session, as we know this is when you are likely to have questions about your child's first year at school.

If you have any questions, concerns or ideas about how we can best support your child, please reach out. We are looking forward to working with you and making the journey to Kindergarten a positive and happy experience for your whole family.

This week, we are also celebrating Science Week, and what better way than to visit Space (well kind of). Our 2-6 students will head to Stromlo, we will have a Zoom meeting with Dr Karl, and our students will be gifted some Seeds from Space, participating in the mission sprouts program. What a scientifically exciting week.

A friendly reminder, this Tuesday we are celebrating Bullying No Way day, with crazy hair as well as a meat pie meal deal. All students will also be participating in daily learning on how to deal with bullying and kindness.

Our resident peacocks have been making their very grand appearances around Bowning Public School this week! 💙💚

We watch in absolute awe as they wander through the playground, proudly displaying their beautiful feathers and reminding us that there is always something a little magical happening at our school. Wishing everyone a happy weekend.

🌟 Principal D for the Day! 🌟

What a busy and productive day for our Principal Dylan.

He stepped into the role with enthusiasm and took on the many jobs that keep a school running. He spent time reading stories to our K–2 students, who loved having a special visitor share a story with them.

He then got stuck into some of the less glamorous jobs — cleaning out and organising the sports shed!
There was also plenty of planning for the future. He ordered a new Buddy Bench to help create a welcoming space for students and some exciting new art supplies for our classrooms.
He even took on the important task of putting together the school newsletter, making sure our families know about all the wonderful things happening at Bowning Public School.
And, of course, we couldn’t forget one of the most important responsibilities of all… ordering coffee for the staff!

A huge thank you to Principal D for a fantastic day of leadership, initiative and helping make our school an even better place. You certainly kept busy and did a wonderful job! ⭐👏

We think you might have what it takes to be Principal one day! 😉
