🔥✨ Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud! ✨🔥

This year's NAIDOC Week theme truly resonated at Bowen Flexible Learning Centre as we celebrated from July 7th to July 14th. Across Australia, NAIDOC Week is a time to honor the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we were privileged to join in these nationwide celebrations.

We were treated to breathtaking performances by local Aboriginal dancers and the Torres Strait Islander Dance troop. Some of our students even took part in the Taba Naba, a traditional sit-down dance from the Torres Strait Islands, embracing the rhythm and spirit of these ancient cultures.

Lunch was a culinary adventure courtesy of Max and Janelle from McNelly's Bush Tucka Food Trailer, featuring a menu of Crocodile Stir Fry, Kangaroo Skewers, and Kangaroo Patty Sliders, all of which were a hit! Dessert was just as spectacular, making it a truly memorable day for many of us experiencing these unique flavors for the first time.

A huge thank you to the talented dancers for sharing a snippet of their vibrant culture with us and to McNelly’s Bush Tucka for the incredible food. Happy NAIDOC Week to all as we continue to learn, respect, and celebrate the world’s oldest, continuous living cultures! 🌟🍽️

🎨🏆 Outstanding Achievements at the Bowen Show Art Competition! 🏆🎨

Exciting news from the recent Bowen Show, where our students showcased their artistic talents and clinched both first and second places in the art competition! 🌟🖌️ Their exceptional skills and commitment to art have made us all at Bowen Flexible School extremely proud.

Congratulations to our amazing young artists on their well-deserved success, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported them on this creative journey. We can't wait to see what they'll create next!

🏎️🎉 Go-Kart Fun at Bowen Flexible School! 🎉🏎️

Last week, our students had an absolute blast building and racing go-karts with the incredible Eddy Mostert! 🚗💨 We want to extend a massive thank you to Eddy for all of his support and guidance since starting this exciting project back in October last year. Your dedication and expertise have been invaluable to our students.

We also want to give a big shoutout to Stacey and Nathan from Whitsunday Moto Sports Club - Karting for their fantastic help on the day. Your assistance made the event even more special and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Check out our talented students in action as they practice their coffee-making skills with our barista machine! 🎓👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 These budding baristas are gearing up for our upcoming pop-up cafe next term, and we couldn't be more proud of their dedication and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to Le Sorelle Coffee House for hosting our senior class yesterday! 🙌 Our students enjoyed ordering drinks and experiencing the exceptional service from a customer's perspective, gaining valuable insights into the world of hospitality.

We’re excited to announce that next term, our students will be putting these observations to use by hosting pop-up cafes at school! Stay tuned for some delicious treats and expertly crafted coffee. ☕️✨
