On International Chef’s Day (and every day) we acknowledge and celebrate our Green Leaves Chefs!

Every Green Leaves Centre has its very own full-time, in-house Chef who designs and prepares delicious, fresh, healthy and wholesome seasonal menus.

Yes, our Chefs feed more than 10,000 Green Leaves children every single day, but our Chefs are teachers too; they demonstrate and encourage:

🌱 Hands in the soil
🌿Identifying planting and picking fruits, herbs and vegetables
🍽️ Garden to plate
♻️ Composting and sustainability

It's no secret that our Chefs are the heart and soul of our Centres, and be assured that all of our children know them on a first name basis.

Splish, splash, and learning through play! ☀️💦

Our Nursery children have been making the most of the warm weather with some refreshing water play!

The children loved using sponges to wash their animal friends, exploring the water, and practising their squeezing, gripping, and hand-eye coordination skills along the way.

These simple, hands-on experiences help strengthen little fingers and develop fine motor skills, while encouraging curiosity, independence, and sensory exploration.

Learning is always more fun when it involves a little water and lots of smiles! 💚

Floating and Sinking Exploration!

Our Kindergarten children have been exploring the concepts of floating and sinking through a fun hands-on experiment!

Using cut pool noodle rings, the children rolled them down a ramp and into the water, making predictions about what would happen and observing the results.

Through this experience, children were developing their scientific thinking, problem-solving, and prediction skills, while exploring concepts such as movement, force, speed, and buoyancy.

They also had opportunities to experiment, test their ideas, and learn that sometimes the results aren’t what we expect, and that’s where the best learning can happen!

Our Kindergarten 1 children have been diving into the fascinating world of buoyancy! ✨

Through hands-on exploration, the children investigated which objects float and which sink, making predictions, testing their ideas, and observing what happened.

They also began exploring why some objects float while others sink, building on their understanding of water, weight, and density 💧

We loved seeing their curiosity, conversations, and scientific thinking come to life as they experimented and discovered! 🧪
