Year 3–6 Space – 3D Champions! πŸš€πŸ“
Our Year 3–6 students have been busy becoming 3D shape champions! πŸ”ΊπŸŸ¦πŸŸ
Across our Space learning, students have been exploring the properties of 2D and 3D shapes, developing their mathematical vocabulary and learning to describe and classify shapes based on their features.

Students have been getting hands-on with shapes and using important mathematical terminology such as:

Faces – the flat surfaces of a 3D object.
Edges – the lines where two faces meet.
Vertices (vertex) – the points where edges meet.
2D shapes – flat shapes such as triangles, squares, rectangles and circles.
3D objects – objects with three dimensions, such as cubes, rectangular prisms, pyramids, cones and cylinders.
The students have been challenged to look closely, investigate, compare and explain what makes different shapes and objects unique. Rather than simply naming a shape, they are learning to justify their thinking using mathematical language β€” β€œHow many faces does it have?”, β€œHow many edges can you find?” and β€œWhat makes this object different from that one?”
This learning connects directly with the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics – Space, where students develop their understanding of geometric shapes and objects, their features and how they can be described, classified and represented.

Our older students are also building the foundations for more complex spatial reasoning, including visualising and describing objects, recognising relationships between shapes and using mathematical reasoning to solve problems.

It has been fantastic to see our students questioning, investigating, building, comparing and sharing their mathematical thinking. πŸ“πŸ§ βœ¨

Who knew there was so much to discover in a simple shape? Our Year 3–6 students certainly do now!

Faces, edges, vertices… we’ve got this! πŸ’ͺπŸ”·

Things got a little… HAIR-RAISING around school today! πŸ˜‚πŸŒˆβœ¨

Our students went all out for Crazy Hair Day 2026, and WOW β€” the creativity was off the charts! πŸš€πŸ¦„πŸŒΈπŸ•·οΈπŸŽ€

We saw hair that was:
🌈 Colourful
✨ Sparkly
πŸŽ€ Twisty
πŸ¦– Wild
🌺 Wacky
πŸ€ͺ And wonderfully CRAZY!

From gravity-defying creations to colourful masterpieces, our school was full of amazing hairstyles and even bigger smiles. 😍

It was fantastic to see everyone embracing the fun, showing off their creativity and enjoying a day that was all about being silly, being imaginative and having a great time together.

And a HUGE round of applause for our incredible families, we’re pretty sure some serious hairstyling skills were involved behind the scenes! πŸ‘πŸ˜‚β€οΈ

Crazy hair? Absolutely!
Crazy fun? 100%! πŸŽ‰

Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make Crazy Hair Day 2026 one to remember! πŸ’‡β€β™€οΈπŸ’₯πŸ’‡β€β™‚οΈ

πŸ›’πŸŽ Welcome to the Kindy Shop! πŸŽπŸ›’
Our Kindy Home Corner has been transformed into a very busy little grocery store! πŸͺ✨

Our students have been having so much fun taking on different roles β€” choosing their groceries, filling their shopping baskets, heading to the checkout and, of course, taking turns being the very important shop attendant! πŸ˜„

β€œWould you like a bag?” πŸ›οΈ
β€œThat will be $5, please!” πŸ’°
β€œThank you, come again!” πŸ‘‹πŸ˜‚

Through this fun role-play, our little shoppers have been developing their communication, social skills, confidence, turn-taking and decision-making while learning about everyday experiences such as shopping, paying and serving customers.

There was plenty of imaginative play, lots of conversations and some very enthusiastic shopkeepers! πŸ₯¦πŸŒπŸ₯›

Who knew school could be this much fun?! πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ

Our Kindy–Year 1 students had an absolute ball in PE Dance today! We got our knees up with Knees Up Mother Brown, twisted and turned with the Hokey Pokey, went wild with The Gorilla Dance, had a blast with Punchenallo, and finished off with a very competitive game of Musical Dots! πŸ”΅πŸŸ’πŸŸ‘

There was so much laughing, giggling and joyful noise that our Year 3–6 class had to close their classroom windows! πŸ˜‚πŸ™‰

Safe to say, we had LOTS of fun, BIG smiles and plenty of dancing feet! ❀️🎡

πŸ“βš–οΈ Measuring Up in Prep–2! πŸ§ͺπŸ“
Our Prep–2 students have been busy exploring the exciting world of measurement, capacity, length and weight! 🌟

Through hands-on investigations and practical activities, our students have been learning to:
πŸ“ compare and describe length and height
βš–οΈ explore and compare weight/mass
πŸ₯› investigate capacity and how much different containers can hold
πŸ” use everyday objects and informal units to measure, compare and estimate
πŸ’¬ explain their thinking using mathematical language.

These experiences are helping our young mathematicians develop their understanding of measurement and how mathematics is used in everyday life.

From figuring out which object is longer, to discovering which container holds more or which item is heavier, our students are learning that maths is everywhere! πŸ’‘β€οΈ

We are so proud of the curiosity, problem-solving and enthusiasm our students are showing as they measure, investigate, compare and learn through doing! πŸ‘βœ¨
