Camberwell Girls Grammar School The Official page of Camberwell Girls Grammar School Camberwell Girls Grammar School is committed to fostering the education of young women.

At CGGS, girls enjoy not only equal opportunity — they enjoy every opportunity. They fully participate in an environment where there are no boundaries. As a result, they whole-heartedly explore their passions and interests and together, create an environment of strong academic achievement. The CGGS learning architecture, BY DESIGN underpins all we do. We aspire for our girls to mature into the bes

t version of themselves in all areas of life, with an awareness of the needs of others as much as their own. Wellbeing is fundamental to positive academic and social growth. Our own model ensures that a respectful, safe, connected, nurturing and encouraging environment exists, so students can flourish in both academic and personal endeavours. We are proud of our diverse, multicultural and highly inclusive community. From Early Learning to Year 12, everybody is welcome and everybody belongs.

A special start to the day with dads and daughters side by side. 💙

This morning, our school community gathered for the annual Father’s Day Breakfast. With egg and bacon rolls and hot coffee to fuel the fun, the crisp morning provided the perfect setting for some friendly competition in the Father-Daughter Challenge!

The suit jackets came off as our Secondary dads took on their daughters in volleyball, with the students securing the win! 🏐💪 Meanwhile, our Junior School students held their own on the soccer field, finishing with another victory for CGGS students. ⚽🤝

It was a morning filled with laughter, connection and a little healthy rivalry. Most importantly, it was a chance to celebrate the special bond between fathers and daughters, and the many moments they share side by side. 💙

Happy Early Childhood Educators Day ✨

Today, we celebrate the incredible educators who nurture, inspire and guide our littlest learners every day. 💛

Ms Eva and her team are not only the creative minds behind every enriching, hands-on learning experience, they’re also the ones behind the camera capturing these special moments.

📸 These photos offer a glimpse into the meaningful experiences our educators create each day.

Their passion, creativity and dedication to every child’s learning and wellbeing are truly inspiring.

🌱 Thank you, Ms Eva and team. Our children are so fortunate to learn from you. ✨

A glitter-filled blur of music, laughter and dance moves... 🪩✨

The Junior School Disco is always a favourite among our younger students, and for the second year running, it was hosted by our Year 11 House Dance Captains! ✨🪩

No DJ required, Chloe Y, Laura M, Nathinee E, Erin L, Sarah L and Tiya S took the lead, curating an energetic playlist and a range of fun activities for their Junior School peers.

Dressed head-to-toe in glitter, students lit up the dance floor under the disco lights and enjoyed face painting provided by the PFA.

The creativity and leadership of our House Dance Captains, combined with the enthusiasm and dance moves of our Junior School students, made for a truly memorable event. 💕

Celebrating Sporting Excellence ⭐️

Barbara Sutton Hall was once again filled with joy as we gathered for the Secondary School Celebration of Sport Evening, the first awards evening held back in this special space.

Students, staff, and families came together to recognise the outstanding achievements of our Year 7–12 athletes and celebrate a year of dedication, teamwork, and success.

We were delighted to welcome special guest Poppy Scholz, AFL Women’s Rising Star Award nominee and Carlton Football Club AFLW player, who shared insights from her sporting journey and inspired students to pursue their goals with confidence.

Awards recognising Most Valuable Contribution, Most Valuable Player, Coach’s Awards, and Year Level Champions were among those presented throughout the evening.

After this celebration, one thing is clear: the future of sport at CGGS is incredibly bright. ⭐️

CHAMPIONS! 🏆⭐️🥇

Today’s weather did not dampen the spirits of our track & field athletes as they dominated the GSV Division 3 Track & Field Championships, taking out all three age groups and the overall championship title by an impressive 100-point margin! ✨🥳

This incredible achievement is a testament to our students’ diligent preparation, as well as the dedication and support of their coaches.

📚✨ Book Week is here, and it has arrived in colourful fashion!

After weeks of preparation, CGGS students and staff finally had the chance to showcase their incredible Book Week costumes. From the littlest readers in the ELC to our Year 12 students, and even our teachers, the entire community embraced the magic of storytelling.

Hallways and playgrounds came alive with beloved characters from every corner of the literary world, creating a wonderful celebration of creativity, imagination and a love of reading.

Can you guess which stories these costumes are from? 👀📖

What can be created from a single 20cm x 20cm canvas?🎨

Our Years 7-9 students took on the challenge, transforming a blank square into unique expressions of creativity, imagination and individuality.

The result? Hundreds of canvases that challenge, celebrate and reimagine the boundaries of the square.

Now in its third year, the 20 x 20 Exhibition is a vibrant showcase of bold ideas, personal stories and creative risk-taking, one canvas at a time. 💡🖼️

Our Year 7-12 Track & Field athletes represented the School with pride at the GSV Preliminary B Track & Field Carnival.

Coaches noted that one of the most memorable aspects of the Carnival was the incredible camaraderie and support shown throughout the team. Students cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines, celebrated each other’s successes and encouraged their teammates through every event. 💙

The school spirit on display, combined with the talent of our athletes, saw the team come home with a collection of ribbons. The Junior team placed 6th, while both the Intermediate and Senior teams placed 5th.

The CGGS team has qualified for the Division 3 Track & Field Championship Carnival, which takes place next Tuesday. 🏃‍♀️🏅

After a fantastic Year 8 Camp in Merricks on the Mornington Peninsula, our students returned home with wonderful memories and new experiences! ☀️

From tree climbing and hiking to bush cooking and bike riding, students embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm. They also took part in a beach clean-up initiative and spent time with Murrundindi learning about local flora and fauna. 🤗✨
