What a night of celebration and recognition for our incredible team at the Excellence in Early Childhood Awards - Gatsby style!

We are so honoured to have been named finalists in four categories:

We were also incredibly proud to celebrate two of our wonderful team members as individual finalists:

And what a special moment it was to see our team take home the Outcomes for Children Award! 🎉

Congratulations to every member of our team. This recognition is a reflection of the passion, dedication and heart you bring to your work every single day.

A huge congratulations to Margot and Dannica on your individual nominations. We are incredibly proud of you both and the contribution you make to our team and the children and families we support.

And lastly, one of the most heartwarming moments of the evening…

Margot was recognised for an incredible 39 years of service in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Thirty-nine years of dedication, love, learning and making a difference in the lives of so many children, families and educators. What an extraordinary achievement.

Building Hilltops Futures Information Night

It was fantastic to attend the Building Hilltops Futures Information Night, bringing local employers, apprentices, students and families together for an evening full of information and connections around apprenticeships, traineeships and career opportunities right here in the Hilltops region.

The employer panel provided some particularly valuable advice for young people considering their next steps.

A strong message was to get some experience before you apply. Whether through volunteering, work experience or a work placement, getting involved gives you a better understanding of the industry, helps build practical skills and shows employers that you are genuinely interested.

Do your research. Learn about the company and the industry before applying, and make sure the career path is something you genuinely want to pursue. An apprenticeship or traineeship can be a significant long-term commitment, so employers want to see that you've thought carefully about your decision.

The panel also highlighted some of the simple things that can make a big difference: show respect, ask questions, be willing to learn and put your phone away! Being present, engaged and interested can say just as much about you as what's written on your résumé.

It was great to see local employers taking the time to share their experience and advice, and to see our community creating opportunities for young people to build their futures right here in the Hilltops region.

Kindergarten Orientation Information Session

We are excited to invite families of our 2027 Kindergarten students to our Kindergarten Orientation Information Session on Friday, 16 October.

This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to find out more about starting school, meet some of our friendly staff, learn what to expect in Kindergarten and ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to meeting our newest little learners and their families as we begin this exciting journey together!

🌿 Supporting Children with Big Emotions & Behaviours – Family Information Session 🌿

Boorowa Early Education Centre is excited to welcome Sarah to present an informative and practical session for families and our wider community on supporting children with big emotions and behaviours.

Parenting and caring for young children can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also come with challenges. This one-hour session will provide practical strategies, insights and tools to help you better understand and support your child’s emotional development and behaviour in a positive, responsive way.

This session is free and open to all families and community members- you do not need to have a child enrolled at Boorowa Early Education Centre to attend.

💫 Creating meaningful connections between children and their learning environment is a vital aspect of high-quality early childhood education. When children are actively involved in shaping their environment, they develop a stronger sense of belonging, ownership and responsibility. Rather than simply using resources that have been chosen for them, children become valued contributors whose ideas, preferences and voices are reflected within the space.

Our recent visit to the local Op Shop provided some of our preschool children with the opportunity to select resources for their Home Corner. This authentic experience encouraged children to contribute to the creation of a learning space that is meaningful to them, strengthening their sense of belonging while supporting rich, imaginative play 💫
