📚✨ Book Week Parade! ✨📚

What a fantastic morning we’ve had celebrating Book Week in our Junior School! Our students arrived dressed as some of their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life through colour, creativity and plenty of imagination.

From much-loved classics to more recent favourites, it was wonderful to see the thought and excitement that went into so many of the costumes. Most importantly, it was a great reminder of the joy that comes from discovering a good book and getting lost in a story. 📖💫

A big thank you to our wonderful families for helping make the morning such a special celebration, and to our staff for creating such a fun and memorable Book Week experience for our students.

Join our school community in supporting our senior students as they take on one of their biggest milestones!

We are currently seeking reliable, organised, and attentive individuals to serve as HSC Examination Supervisors for the upcoming HSC Examination Period.

Supervisors play a crucial role in creating a quiet, fair, and supportive environment so our Year 12 students can perform at their absolute best. Duties include setting up exam rooms, actively monitoring sessions according to official protocols, and securely handling examination papers.

This is a paid role running in October through to November, offering flexible morning, afternoon and whole day sessions.

HSC Written Examination Period: Tuesday 13 October, 2026 to Thursday 5 November, 2026.

Applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Working with Children Check, maintain a punctual and professional approach, and possess strong attention to detail.

Please note that individuals with a child or close relative sitting the HSC this year are ineligible to supervise due to conflict-of-interest guidelines.

Can I grow up and become a famous author?
Our wonderful librarians organised a visit to our Junior school by local author .A. Spratt , known for her bestselling Friday Barnes and Nanny Piggins stories. She read from her books, blew her trumpet (a real, bright red one) parried with her very own sword (made from foam and toilet rolls), shared a bit of her story and encouraged our students to love reading and stories (many of our children came clutching much-loved copies of her books). She had everyone laughing and cheering (did you know she started out as a stand-up comedian, alongside fellow bestselling author Anh Do?)
She read from The Epically Awesome Odyssey, as told by Nanny Piggins, so if your child comes home asking about sirens ... now you know why.
I wonder how many children will dress up as Nanny Piggins and Friday Barnes for Book Week?

Need a break? We hear you!

Nowra Anglican College will be closed next Monday for our Mid-Term Break, a chance to rest, recharge and reset before the second half of Term 3.

A group of talented Japanese students recently enjoyed an unforgettable day of language and cultural immersion at the Tanken Centre at Kirrawee High School.

Students developed their Japanese listening and speaking skills through a wide range of interactive activities, including language games and quizzes, team challenges and Japanese meals. They were encouraged to communicate confidently in Japanese while making new connections.

At NAC, we grow leaders throughout the school journey. From Student Representative Council through Junior School and continuing through Senior School, House leadership, Prefects and Captains of the Junior School through to Year 11 Peer Support and the prefect leadership group in Years 11 and 12, students are encouraged to look out for their peers, to take initiative and look for opportunities to improve the world around them, and to serve their school community.
Our Year 10 Peer Support leaders will have a key role in welcoming the new Year 7 next year, and helping students feel welcome and part of the NAC community.
Our 2027 leaders have participated in training days recently. A newspaper fashion show was just one of the activities the students did together, as they focussed on building rapport as a group and developing the qualities required by leaders.

Look around our Junior School at any break time this term and you'll see students busy skipping, practising their skills and raising money for Jump Rope for Heart 2026. They're growing in fitness, coordination, resilience, confidence and teamwork along the way.
Nowra Anglican College is currently 16th on the fundraising leaderboard, and having reached our goal early in the challenge, we've doubled our target! Jump Rope for Heart supports the important work of the Heart Foundation .

Our Year 6 students travelled to Canberra last week for Year 6 Camp, an exciting event on the school calendar where Year 6 comes together to enjoy adventure experiences and explore Australia's political system in the capital. It’s always a time of relationship building, personal discovery, team-building and learning, as students get outside their comfort zone and encounter new things. The theme of the camp was Christian leadership, as they thought about what it means to lead with servant hearts.
A big thank you to the staff that work very hard to put camp together, and spend time away from their families caring for our students on camp. And as always, thank you to our students who represented Nowra Anglican College with pride.

Imagine life in the trenches in WW1. Heavy coats, hand-knitted jumpers, mud (so much mud), carrying your weapons, provisions, letters from home and your trusty bully beef. It’s hard to imagine, so we brought in Shane Blackman, an expert in WW1 history, whose engaging presentation brought trench warfare to life for our Year 9 History students. He brought a range of real and replica artifacts from Australian WW1 soldiers, giving our students the chance to hold tools and clothing from the period.
