It’s time to head home after another wonderful trip to South Korea.

After leaving Jinju, we heading back to Busan to catch the KTX and on the way we stopped in at the Jalgachi Fish Market which is always fascinating.
The KTX again offered a time for rejuvenation before we headed out for shopping and dinner in Insadong.
The next day we caught the Seoul Subway to Nasman Park and the Seoul Tower with views as far as they eyes could see.
We had lunch in the Namdaemun Market area before venturing to one of our favourite stops, the Kyobo Book Store. Lots of book and stationery purchases.
Some took the opportunity to head back to the hotel early whilst others continued on with the theme of dinner and more shopping.
We’re now at the airport. See you all soon.

Day 3 Busan
Only a small number of attractions to see on our 3rd day in Busan; but they sure were memorable.
We started the morning at the Gamcheon Culture Village which was very popular with a huge crowds in attendance.
We then moved onto the Songo Cloud Trails Walk which included the Busan Air Cruise Cable Car which offers a truly spectacular view of Busan, its Harbour and the ocean.
Our final destination was the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Lantern Festival which was absolutely amazing. We hope the photos are able to do it justice.

Day 2 Busan
Some students and staff took the opportunity to see the sunrise whilst others enjoyed a welcome sleep-in.
Our trips today included visiting the Haedong Yonggingsa Temple, the Seokgguram Grotto and finally the Bulguksa Temple.
As it was the weekend and also a Public Holiday there was a significant amount of traffic so the journey between different sites took quite along time.
Once back at the hotel, some students and staff headed out to dinner, whilst others took the opportunity to have an early night.

Day 1 Busan
We farewelled our friends from Yangpyeong High School and caught a coach ride back to Seoul to catch the KTX (fast train) to Busan.
When riding public transport in Korea it is respectful to travel in silence so we took the opportunity to rest and relax.
Haeundae Beach offered an opportunity to stretch our legs before we grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to bed relatively early for this trip.

Days 4 and 5 at Yangpyeong High School.

We had an emotional farewell ceremony followed by sharing of gifts and our now traditional farewell photo at the entrance to Yangpyeong High School.
The day before students attended lessons on Korean History, Social Studies, Biology, Cooking, Korean, Science, English, World History, Politics, Earth Science, Biology, Geography and Chinese.
Another fantastic lunch. This time an all you can eat buffet.
The afternoon was a tremendous occasion with students learning Korean Drumming Experience Samulnori.
We then travelled to Yongmoon Temple which was beautiful and very relaxing once we made the long trek from the bus.
Dinner was once again amazing with us sharing Korean Pork Belly and plenty of other delicious dishes.

Days 1, 2 and 3 at Yangpyeong High School.

We departed Seoul and made our way to Yangpyeong High School by bus with a stop at Dulmeori where the Bukhangang and Namhangang rivers meet.
Here we were able to have a short rest, take some memorable photos, some quick souvenir shopping and then back on the bus before we stopped again for lunch.
It was then onto Yangpyeong High School where we arrived to a wonderful greeting where students and staff were able to catch up with their buddies for the next four days.
Students participated in a Korean Name Bracelet activity while Bomaderry High School staff were given a tour of Yangpyeong High School’s newest facilities as well as seeing the more established classrooms.
The Welcome Ceremony was a wonderful celebration of the 10 years that Bomaderry and Yangpyeong High Schools have shared their Sister School relationship.
We then headed out to a beautiful garden dinner in a local Wedding Reception Centre.
The next morning students and staff attended various lessons focusing on Calculus, PDHPE, English, Music, Korean, Biology and Chinese.
We then came back together for a short walk to a Korean War Memorial that backs onto the school where we observed a minute’s silence and were given an opportunity to reflect on what this means to the Korean people.
The students were then able to enjoy outdoor activities on the synthetic soccer pitch that is next door to the school.
The afternoon and evening activities included Traditional Korean Tea Cookie making, a trip to the Starfield Mall and dinner.
Our third day was an excursion to Seorak Mountain where we caught the cable car to the top of the mountain with a short hike to the most spectacular views.
We visited Sinheung Temple before boarding the bus to Sokcho.
We had a ride on a hand-pulled ferry, visited Sokcho Beach and went on the Sokcho Giant Ferris Wheel and another wonderful dinner, and a long bus ride back.
