Last week, our Year 7 Geography students took their learning beyond the classroom, attending the Sunshine Coast Regional Council’s Environmental Clean Up event at Lake Kawana! Students rolled up their sleeves to help protect our local environment, collecting litter and learning firsthand about the impact of waste on our ecosystems. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to making a positive difference in our community. A big thank you to Sunshine Coast Regional Council for hosting such a valuable and inspiring event - our future environmental stewards are already making a difference!

We’re incredibly proud of current Year 12 student Luca Lamplough, who recently made her Rugby women's open debut wearing #5 for the Falcons BMD Premiership team. Luca followed up her debut with an outstanding second game, being recognised by her team as Players’ Player! What an incredible start to her BMD Premiership journey at only 18. Congratulations, Luca - we can’t wait to see what’s ahead! 💙

This term Year 3 student Penelope was invited to Sydney where she had the honour of walking out onto the pitch with the Chelsea FC team captain, Lucy Bronze.

Penelope currently plays for the Under 12's Sunshine Coast Team and has already been recognised by scouts for her amazing football skills. A wonderful experience for Penelope!

Our Junior Dance Night, held earlier this term, was a huge success with a sold-out audience. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the skill and creativity of our students, featuring our competition groups, Year 7–9 Dance Excellence routines and student choreography.

It is amazing to see the incredible talent within our school and the growth of our Dance program over the past few years. We are so proud of how far our students have come!

Congratulations to all of our talented dancers, and a big thank you to our parents and carers for their continued support.

Theo Hughes recently represented the Sunshine Coast at the QRSS Touch Football Trials in Bundaberg, a four-day competition bringing together teams from across Queensland.

The Sunshine Coast team performed exceptionally well against some very strong competition, finishing the tournament with 6 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw, placing them 5th overall out of 12 teams.

Theo played a strong role in the middle throughout the competition and was recognised for his efforts, receiving Player of the Match in the team's game against Capricornia. Just as importantly, Theo represented Kawana Waters State College with great integrity and pride.

He hopes to continue developing his game and return next year as a senior member of the Sunshine Coast team. We are incredibly proud of his efforts and look forward to seeing where his touch football journey takes him! 👏🏉
