Well thats a wrap from me folks..
The Creative Jar Cabarita Beach has officially drawn to a close, and so begins the dawn of a new future for the studio under the Directorship of Michael Di Cenco and his company Yodelay Music
So, I’m leaving the Tweed Coast, but I thank my lucky stars the community has been fortunate enough to have Michael step up with his own dreams that can only build upon all the good work we’ve created. I’m wishing Michael, Dale, Tommy, Benny and the whole Tweed music making community the greatest journey into the future! Long live the studio!!
As for the farewells….. well…

Firstly - thank you.. all of you.. whether you’ve ever been to the studio, or just wished me well on it. From its earliest days I’ve felt everyones collective stoke for the journey I’ve been on. All the support, all the opportunities - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU… What an absolute wild time of fun and laughter! At the end, I can’t express how grateful for my time, and for where I ended up, and the way the journey has ended.
It’s really hard to put the last 8 years of my life into words. I often joke that if the walls of the Creative Jar could talk, they’d be singing… They’d sing the songs of every genre I’ve ever loved and a few hundred more.. They’d laugh, they’d cry, they’d tell a thousand stories of the kooky things they’ve been witness to.
(Some other quick personal thanks can be found at the bottom! )
I never kept client/student figures, but I could comfortably state I have jammed with, taught and worked on projects with literally tens of thousands of people of every single age group in and out of that Little Rock Box. We’ve had guest artists who hung out with us, used it as a rehearsal space, a guesthouse, a skaters wet dream, a kids disco, a concert venue, dance studio, film studio, community hub and art studio; come gallery….. All this set next to the ocean in a beautiful little paradise, it’s been everything of my childhood fantasies - just making my way in this world drawing pictures and playing music in between surfs, and skates with rad people and my wife and two babies never far away….
I’m immensely proud of whats been accomplished here; it’s an accolade that needs no reward to be able to state once in your lifespan, you changed the artistic fortunes of a local area and left a legacy that outlives your tenure. It wasn’t just music we were making, it was so much more. I’m a risk taker by nature, and although it had its challenges, not a day passed I wasn’t content in the fact that I loved everything about what I was contributing to those and the world around me.
I dunno what the new chapter holds… looking back on the era’s of my life, its never been boring, and as much as I like to say I’ve hung up the music this time for good…. You know me.. it’s never for long.
😊❤️🤟🏽 Skotty!
SPECIAL THANKS
MY team, Dale and Tommy - not possible without you both being such bloody legends in your own right - Thank you. Former teachers Annie, Adam, Emmy, and Jamie, also thank you. HUGE thank you to Michael and Tracy Corke - the two coolest landlords / friends who’ve ever had my back. My accountant Adrian who’s been a rock from a the day I hit him with the idea! My neighbour Phil - also the coolest neighbour a musician could ever ask for, plus all the former tenants who may not have loved my noisy ways, but still supported what I was about none-the-less ( the entire neighbourhood on that note ). Probably the biggest ones go to my family - Mum and Dad for backing the project at its start-up, the girls for being so very patient with their workaholic dad’s hair-brain ideas, and Renae who was the one who convinced me I should rent that old out of business office space way back in late 2013, and never said no to any of the idea’s - she gets my genius / insane ratio! The students and Parents - OMG - too many to name, you know I would but the list would be long, so just know I ❤️ you….
😊❤️🤟🏽
