In 6W we have been working to complete a Maths investigation called Fantasy Flight. In this task we have to plan a trip around the world using 50 000km of free travel. We must calculate the distance travelled between different cities and also the total duration of travel time. Once our destinations were mapped out, we had to work with a $10 000 budget to find suitable accommodation and allocate spending money to each day of our trip. We then completed some questions to evaluate and justify the decisions we made. We really enjoyed completing this real-world Maths investigation!

Prep Museum (HASS)
Our very own class museum was a huge hit! The children loved sharing their special objects from home, proudly telling us about them and listening to the stories and memories behind each one. It was a wonderful opportunity to build our oral language skills as we asked questions, shared ideas and learned that special objects can hold special stories about people, places and experiences. We were also treated to a very cool song from one of our Prep mums. Thank you, Claire Anne Taylor. What a way to end our celebration of the things that make each of us special!

We have been very engaged in our learning in 1-2E over the last few weeks and we have produced some amazing quality of work!
In InitiaLit, we have been learning new spelling rules, many new tricky words, and how to read more fluently and with expression.
In maths, we have been enjoying our Maths Trek program, as well as problem solving tasks. In Science, and Hass, we have been inquiring into changes in our environment, and the impacts of weather and seasons. We have produced some very beautiful art to represent evidence of spring.

Boat Harbour Primary School Little Learners Tomorrow, Tuesday 25 August, come dressed as your favourite Book Week character. We also invite our LiL families to attend the Early Childhood Assembly on Thursday 27 August commencing at 9:10am where our Little Learners can parade their character on stage.
