Class 1 had the best day collecting an amazing selection of native plants from Landcare Woolgoolga for our Bush Tucker Garden. 🌿

We then enjoyed lunch at the beautiful Corindi Fish Traps, which was the perfect way to finish a wonderful day of learning, culture and connection to Country.

A huge thank you to Landcare Woolgoolga for their generosity and support, and to Aunt Deb for sharing her incredible knowledge of the fish traps and their cultural significance. We can’t wait to get planting! 🌱

Classes 1 and 3 had a fantastic time at the Big Banana for sport! ⛳🎮

Students not only had a blast playing mini golf, but also enjoyed spending time in the games arcade. Throughout the excursion, they demonstrated responsible and mature behaviour and were wonderful ambassadors for our school.

A big shout-out to Sarah for organising such a great afternoon and for being brave enough to take on the students in one of the arcade games!

A huge congratulations to Kathryn on completing her final project for our integrated English and History unit.
Kathryn’s project was exceptionally detailed, creative and of such a high standard that it will be displayed at the Department of Education office in Coffs Harbour.
This is a wonderful recognition of Kathryn’s dedication, creativity and learning throughout the term. Well done, Kathryn! You should be very proud of your achievement.

Our Caring for Country students have been busy planning the next stage of our Bush Tucker Garden.
Students worked together to measure the garden beds and decide on the best location for each native plant. They considered how tall and wide each plant will grow, how much sunlight or shade it needs, and whether it would be safely positioned away from pathways, fences and other plants.
A special thank you to Aunt Debby Elliott, Gabe, Kathryn and Xavier for their hard work, teamwork and careful planning.
On Monday, Class 1 will travel to Woolgoolga to collect a generous donation of native plants from Landcare. We greatly appreciate their support in helping us bring our Bush Tucker Garden to life.
The next step will be placing the plant markers and getting the plants into the ground!

🏑 CHLC’s Favourite Sport at the Moment… Hockey! 🏑

Hockey has quickly become a favourite with many of our students (and staff) lately, with students showing fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship during games and activities.

It has been great seeing students encouraging each other, building confidence, developing new skills, and having fun while staying active. The fast pace, teamwork, and excitement of the game have made it a huge hit across the school.

đźš— Real World Learning at CHLC đźš—

Last week our students participated in hands-on real world learning focused on general car maintenance skills.

Students explored important practical skills including learning about oil and fluid levels, identifying basic car parts, understanding dashboard warning lights, and discussing simple vehicle safety and maintenance checks.

These learning experiences help students build independence, confidence, problem-solving skills, and practical knowledge they can use in everyday life and future employment pathways.

✨ Future Lash Technician in the Making ✨

A big shout out to our budding eyelash technician who has been working hard developing her skills, confidence, and creativity through hands-on practice.

It has been wonderful seeing her passion, patience, and attention to detail continue to grow. Opportunities like these help students explore real interests, build confidence, and work toward future career pathways.🌸
