I admit that my social media and content creation skills are not my strong suit 🙈

I have dabbled with Ai and just not feeling it!

I do have a crack at Canva 🤗 though!

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I would much rather have a conversation with you to connect.

The work I do is all about human connection!

I am really hoping to get my book 📥

The Impact of Birth Stories:
How they shape and guide children’s connection, creativity and community within their families and learning environments 📖

The book is all about celebrating children and inspiring a love of learning through their birth stories.

I would love to share your children’s quotes on the topics below.

If the quote relates to their birth story then even better.

If your child’s quote is chosen for publication, as a thank you I will gift you a FREE copy of the book.

When ever I see an opportunity to talk about motherhood I jump at the chance!

So when Bobbi Barrington-Inspirational Speaker shared this months Story Jam topic “please don’t tell my mum!” I was there!

I shared a story about my grandfather when he was between 7 and 10 (I am a bit hazy on the details) growing up in WWII in Germany. He was the eldest of three boys and responsible for taking care of them along side his mother, my great grandmother.

My great grandmother was around 5ft tall and ruled with an iron fist! She was the only woman in her village not to have been r***d by the Russian soldiers that had taken over the village, because she had made a deal with them to be there cook, and they honoured this agreement!

So when my grandfather, a young boy, was shot in the upper thigh he chose not to tell his mum! We don’t know for sure what motivated him not to, perhaps fear of being disciplined physically, or disappointing her for putting himself in harms way?

What ever the motivation it meant that he went without nurture, support and proper care while healing.

I began to wonder about my children and the secrets they have kept from me, and why?

Some I would have no need to know but what about the other ones?

The ones that felt heavy, lonely to be in?

How had my expectations of them prevented them from sharing these with me and what was the emotional cost to them?

Our children should be free to express and share without fear of judgment what they have experienced. To receive compassion and support.
To be loved unconditionally.

My grandfather revered his mother but he also feared her!

What about your children?

Do they revere you?
Fear you?
Or both?

How does this sit with you?
What might need to change in the way you mother?

If you are interested in learning more about how you can use your child’s birth story as a guiding map to support their learning and development or how I use them in my teaching in the learning environments that I work in then comment 👇

If you have any questions for me about my teaching strategies in relation to the children’s births comment 👇

Or if you are interested in understanding how your own birth story has impacted on your life and would like to better understand what that means for you and how you can work with it as opposed to against it comment 👇

I look forward to exploring your questions and comments during my first live next week. And like some births I don’t know when, but like all births just know it’s happening 🤗

I’ve been hearing a lot of people lately talk about how they’re drawing a line in the sand.

They’ve reached a point where they’ve had enough and they’re setting boundaries or changing directions, making big life choices necessary to ultimately bring more positivity into their life for themselves and their families.

So I began to think about all the lines I’ve drawn in the sand recently and why and how that’s leading me on a path of more authenticity and freedom to follow my passions and be the role model I want to be for my children and not the one I think I have to be. I am also wondering where more lines need to be drawn!

So what’s your line in the sand:

As a mother?
A partner?
A person?

Share below 👇
if you’re ready to draw that line!

I would love to cheer you on 🙌🏽

Your Birth Story Matters!

Your birth story is more than a memory. It is the first chapter of your life or the life of your child and motherhood.

By taking the time to write it down, you create a precious gift for yourself, your children, your family and the people who walk alongside you. It becomes a story that can be understood, honoured and shared with those who guide and nurture you throughout life.

Whether you are a parent writing your child’s story, adult discovering your own beginnings or an educator seeking to better understand the children in your care. Your birth story has the power to deepen connections, compassion and understanding.

Don’t wait until the details fade!

Write your birth story today! Preserve it, learn to comprehend it as a guide on the best way to be nurtured, supported and thrive.

Share it with people who need to know it so they can better understand support and guide you or the child whose story you hold. Because when we understand the beginning we can nurture the journey with greater wisdom, compassion non-judgement and love.
