Our wonderful Chef Bel turned children's feedback into fun! πŸ“πŸ§πŸŒΏ
After reflecting on one of our afternoon teas that wasn't a favourite with the children, the children joined Chef Bel to make delicious mini cupcakes using strawberry gum, an Australian native herb with a unique flavour.

Through mixing, measuring, and baking together, the children explored native ingredients while developing confidence, practical life skills, and an appreciation for Australia's natural flavours.

We love creating meaningful learning experiences inspired by children's voices! πŸ’š

πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ What's in Your Dilly Bag? β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

Our Koala children have been enjoying our "What's in Your Dilly Bag?" activity.

Together, the children sing "What's in your dilly bag?"before taking turns to reach inside and discover what treasures are waiting to be explored. From native Australian animals to other meaningful objects, each item sparks curiosity, conversation and hands on learning as the children feel, observe and talk about what they have found.
This engaging experience supports children's language development, sensory exploration and turn taking while introducing them to Aboriginal cultures and the significance of the dilly bag as a traditional woven bag used by Aboriginal peoples to carry important items.

We love creating opportunities for our children to learn about and celebrate Australia's rich First Nations cultures through meaningful, play-based experiences.

Pyjama Day! - Friday 17th July πŸ’œπŸ’™ 🧸

Our Pyjama Day fundraiser was held to support children in foster care, a cause that is especially close to our hearts, as we are privileged to have many foster children as part of our centre community.

A huge thank you to all of our children who proudly wore their pyjamas and to our wonderful families who generously donated. Together, we raised $116 to support children in foster care.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make a positive difference in the lives of children who need it most

Teddy Bears Picnic 🧸

Today we headed to our local park with our favourite cuddly friends for a morning full of fun and adventure. The children had a fantastic time exploring the playground, climbing, sliding, and playing together before sitting down to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch with their favourite soft toy.

πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈThank you Uncle Col πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

Last week we welcomed Uncle Col from Muru Mittigar to our service for a wonderful cultural incursion. Uncle Col shared his knowledge, stories, and culture with our children. It was a meaningful hands on learning experience where the children explored a variety of traditional Aboriginal artefacts. The children especially enjoyed dancing to the rhythm of the tapping sticks.
Experiences like these help foster respect, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for Australia's First Nations cultures. Thank you again, Uncle Col, for such a memorable and enriching visit.

πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ Reconciliation Week 2026 β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

Our children worked together to create a Sea of Hands display at the front of our preschool, creating a beautiful symbol of unity, respect, and belonging. Through this experience the children explored the importance of respect, connection to Country, and celebrating the world's oldest continuing cultures. Each hand is a reminder that we all have a role to play in fostering understanding, inclusion, and respect.
