📚🎶A "Symphony of Stories" for Book Week 2026! 🎶📚

During our Book Week 2026 celebrations, our students were absolutely buzzing with excitement as they dived into a thrilling trivia contest within their year groups, answering all things stories and literature. The energy was electric with countless hands shooting up, eager to put their Year Group ahead and showcase their literary knowledge!

A special highlight was the fantastic costume changes by our own talented Librarian, Ms. Evans, who took us on a journey through different genres of literature. She inspired our young readers to don their thinking caps and tackle the tricky "Who Am I?" questions – a true symphony of storytelling and imagination!

And it wouldn’t be Book Week without some fabulous dress-ups! Several students brought their A-game in the dressing up competition, with some fantastic dynamic duos lighting up the stage and showing off their creativity.

What a wonderful celebration of stories, imagination, and community spirit! Here's to many more chapters of fun and learning together. 📖✨

❤️❤️❤️Young @ Heart Companions

Over the last two weeks, our amazing Young @ Heart students have been spreading joy and connection across all three local Roshana aged care facilities!

❤️On 14/08, our students visited Uralba, where residents enjoyed their favourite nails sessions paired with lively games of Scrabble. Laughter and friendly competition filled the room!

❤️ Then on 17/08, the fun continued at Lee Hostel with more nails and manicures, creating wonderful one-on-one connections. Everyone had a blast playing The Price Is Right—smiles all round!

❤️Finally, on 24/08, the Littlewood visit brought even more heartfelt moments. After pampering nails, we stepped outside to soak up a beautiful sunny morning with bubbles, Nerf gun games, and hula hoop laughs. Special shoutout to Nina, crowned Queen of the Hula Hoop with her savvy ‘less is more’ technique! 👑

A huge thank you to our Young @ Heart students for their kindness, energy, and dedication to brightening the days of our local seniors. You truly embody the spirit of community and care! 💖

Building Skills for the Future | National Skills Week
It’s National Skills Week, and we’re celebrating the many ways our students at Blayney High are building valuable skills and preparing for their futures!

From learning practical skills and working with industry, to developing communication, teamwork, problem-solving and workplace skills, VET provides students with opportunities to discover their strengths and explore where their interests could take them.

Students are also building valuable skills through our VET (Vocational Education and Training) programs in Primary Industries, Hospitality, and Construction, to name a few. These programs give students the opportunity to explore different career pathways, gain practical, hands-on experience, and develop industry-recognised skills while still at school

Whether students are considering further study, an apprenticeship, traineeship or heading straight into the workforce, VET opens doors and provides pathways to a bright future.

We’re proud to see our students embracing all of these opportunities, building confidence and gaining the skills they need to be future ready!

Our Stage 5 and 6 Agriculture students enjoyed an excellent day of practical learning while completing lamb marking activities.

Students developed valuable skills in low-stress handling, safely restraining lambs, vaccination, identification, tail docking, animal health checks, and record keeping. Animal welfare, hygiene, and safe work practices remained the priority throughout the day.

It was great to see our Stage 6 students confidently supporting the Stage 5 students as they developed their livestock-handling skills.

A fantastic day of authentic agricultural learning and an outstanding effort from everyone involved! 🐑🌾

By wearing purple, they showed their support for this important cause and helped raise awareness about the ongoing work to create safe and positive environments for everyone.
