Blandford students recently celebrated National Science Week, exploring what everyday objects are made of and how different materials can be changed.

In K-2 class, students investigated materials such as playdough and foil, looking at how their properties can be shaped, stretched or moulded. They created their own playdough characters and experimented with foil to make sculptures inspired by the famous artist Alberto Giacometti.

Bowen therapy is a gentle, hands‑on bodywork technique that focuses on the fascia — the soft tissue surrounding muscles and organs — to support pain relief, relaxation, and improved mobility. It uses light, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments, and skin, with short pauses between sequences to allow the body to respond.
Bowen Therapy sessions are being offered by appointment only, out of school hours on Blandford Public School grounds.

We are delighted to share that one of our Upper Invermein Small Schools, partner schools has extended a warm invitation to our community to attend their upcoming Art Show. This wonderful event will feature a vibrant collection of artworks created by students and artists from across the Upper Hunter, celebrating creativity, imagination and local talent.

The event will be held on Saturday, 7 November 2026. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

We look forward to supporting our Belltrees Public School colleagues and school community, celebrating the achievements of Upper Hunter artists and students.

Australia’s oldest parliament is opening its doors for our Family Fun Day – a wonderful community day with free, interactive and educational experiences for children in the oldest Parliament in Australia. This year’s highlights include:

Step inside our Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers
Learn how to use your voice in Parliament
Have your say in a mock committee role play
Vote with the NSW Electoral Commission

Upper Invermein Public Speaking Competition​ 2026
Three of our students have progressed from both the whole‑school
competition and the Upper Invermein Small Schools’ Grand Final to
represent Blandford Public School in the Upper Hunter Zone Speaking Competition. We are extremely proud of the confidence, preparation and outstanding public speaking skills they have demonstrated at each stage of the competition. The Zone event will be held in Week 8 — Thursday, 10 September 2026.
We applaud you for always doing your Blandford Best.
